hello, can i request a headcanons with klaus in love with a reader! antichrist she being lucifer's daughter
Tumblr media
Klaus & The Devils Daughter HCs
I think you’d be pretty confident with your title. You’ve walked the earth longer than any original vampire, you have the power to destroy it if you really desired to and you know it.
When you learnt of the creation of vampires it was certainly something interesting in the world, your father had never been prouder of the creation he had tampered with. What was once meant to be protection via immorality was now a new creature, a dangerous, blood thirsty creature.
You learnt their abilities and originally you would prefer Kol, he was uncontrollable, a mad man. You’d definitely befriend him at some point, share you identify and show him the better way to do things through bloodshed and torture.
It was when you witnessed his brother, Niklaus, shove a dagger through his chest did you notice his potential.
He had changed, something sinister swirling within him, he could be powerful.
You let him spot you a few times. Make an appearance at one of his events or two, even dance with him once but never did he see your face, a masquerade like mask always worn on your face.
He found himself searching for you, your touch burning him in the best possible way. Confidently radiating and red lips pulled into a knowing smirk. The fact you knew his name, knew which buttons to press for him to respond accordingly, who were you?
Your favourite time was when the originals had taken residence in New Orleans. They were like royalty, they had power and ruled together, Kol was awake and the Mikaelsons had even taken on a new family member, Marcellus.
When Rebekah and her lover summoned her father it was a moment that even the devil himself did not commend. Lucifer hated Mikael with a passion. He knew what it was like to be cast away given that he was thrown out of heaven to fend for himself. Niklaus was to protected, who better than his daughter who already had a growing interest in him.
You befriended Rebekah in the 1920s. Well Stefan introduced her to you, Stefan became one of your many…friends over the years, when he was ruthless and ripped an entire country to shreds.
Rebekah had said she had seen you with Kol and so you made an excuse before eventually telling her your story, when the trust was there of course. Not that it mattered, memory erasing wasn’t exactly difficult.
Klaus was pissed when he saw his sister talking to the women he had been hunting, your back again turned to him, blocking your face from his view but he knew it was you from your laugh, the way you held yourself.
He slowly, cautiously made his approach, he couldn’t have you vanishing into the air, not again.
This time when he put a hand on your shoulder you did not hide, turning to meet his eye with a smile on your face as Rebekah ‘introduced’ you.
He kept a hand on your the entire time you were at Gloria’s and you didn’t mind, physical contact wasn’t something you were used to, you didn’t get very close to people all that often but something about him was calming, inviting.
When Mikael arrived Klaus believed he had compelled you, told you that you needed to run away, his father would harm you and though he may not know anything other than your name, he could not bare the thought of your pain unless pleasure came from it too
It was a shock to him when he received letters with your names signed at the bottom. Feeding him information. A doppelgänger in Mystic Falls, A werewolf pack in Portland, Sophie Devereux in New Orleans with a pregnant wolf carrying his child. The last letter was slightly bitter.
There was never a return address which upset him greatly, no matter how hard he tried to find your location, you were simply gone.
And so Klaus would sit and await his letters, hoping for advice and words of reassurance, longing for some sort of peace to settle over his life, his childs life.
When he was chained in a circle of magical salt that restricted his movement, a dark knife embedded in his chest leaving him to rot in agony, it was your face he pictured. Your voice that flew through his head, your hands that touched his face and told him that Hope was doing okay and that he was strong.
It was a shock when you walked down the stairs to where he was, arm linked with Marcel who believed you to be a trusted alliance. Now you liked Marcel yes, but you adored Niklaus.
Marcel let you remove the blade from his father like figure. He kept speaking of his future plans, not noticing the little whispers in Klauss ear
“your family are coming for you shortly, everything is going to be okay, remember you are strong and powerful, do not be afraid. We are on your side, trust me.”
And he did trust you.
Soon enough his family had him out, he thanked them, hugged them and checked they were alright before asking where you were. Rebekah and Kol were shocked to hear your name after so long, the others remained confused.
He began to assume you were just a hallucination that day.
It isn’t until the hollow comes that you are finally with him.
Your father did not expect the pure rage that you expressed seeing Niklaus’s utter heartbreak when he had to leave his own child.
Even the devil began searching for a way to destroy the hollow once and for all.
Now that Klaus was alone, it was the safest to approach him.
He wasn’t expecting your arrival but it was very much welcome. You picked him up from his lows as he drowned in the loss of his family, kept him safe from any enemies and made sure he kept up his letters to Hayley, phone calls to Hope.
It didn’t take long for you to admit that you were not human, you didn’t even belong on this world. Of course you thought he was asleep when you shared your news, the priceless look on your face when Klaus turned his head to respond had your father laughing as he watched over you.
“i knew you were something unimaginable” he whispered with a small smile, holding onto you a little tighter.
For the next few years you helped him kill off any of his remaining enemies. Every being that helped lock him away in a dungeon, missing his daughters childhood. He could find stand knowing they were still out there. They knew that Hope was alive, they could know that Elijah had no memories. You had promised to protect him and his family came with him.
Klaus has been in love with you since he first saw your mischievous eyes through your lace mask. But he never thought that you would actually be together, in your own house living a life.
His heart had never beat faster than when your lips were on his, everything within him called for you and every bad thing that was happening in the world melted away.
He didn’t even think as you both tugged the clothes off of eachother, as your bodies became one. Him ontop on you, hips meeting yours with your hands in his hair or when you had your hand around his throat squeezing lightly as you rode him.
“i have waited centuries for that and if was even greater than i had dreamed it” he uttered while breathing heavily against your skin, hands still holding onto your shoulders to calm himself
“being a demon you aren’t exactly supposed to believe in love, especially with somebody from Earth but you, you’re all that i want” you told him, trying to say the words ‘i love you’ without saying them exactly
“you have me, for as long as you desire” he returned and he knew that together everything would be alright

The Hittites
"And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites." Exodus 3:8
The Hittites were mentioned as one of the tribes dwelling in the land of Canaan at the exodus, but their origins and history is complex and ancient. The Hittites were an Indo-European people who began to settle in what is now Turkey (1900 B.C.). By the 16th century B.C they had become a powerful nation, strong enough to invade Babylon. Their power continued to increase until they became a world power on par with the Egyptians and Assyrians. Their relationship with Egypt was particularly volatile, and included the famous Battle of Kadesh which led to one of the world’s first peace treaties. The Hittite were a formidable military and religious empire, and this once great and powerful nation had almost faded from history; but their monuments and inscriptions are just now beginning to be discovered and deciphered.
The Hittites began abandoning the land of Hatti during the region-wide decline at the end of the 12th century B.C, with many relocating to Carchemish in northern Syria, which they made a vice-regal seat. Their capital city was Hattusa, which was eventually invaded and destroyed in the early 12th century B.C, but by this point it was already largely abandoned.
The Hittites played a prominent role at key places in the scriptures: notable mentions are Ephron the Hittite who sold Abraham the Cave of Machpelah where he buried Sarah, which later became the family burial ground ( [Genesis 23]. Esau married Hittite women, which scripture says was "a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah."[Genesis 26:34]. The Hittites were frequently listed as one of the inhabitants of Canaan [Exodus 13:5; Numbers 13:29; Joshua 11:3] who were supposed to be destroyed[Exodus 23:23]. King David had his friend Uriah the Hittite killed in order to acquire Uriah’s wife, and to cover up the shame of the adultery he committed with Bathsheba [2 Samuel 11]. King Solomon had Hittites among his many wives [1 Kings 10:29–11:2; 2 Chronicles 1:17], and the prophet Ezekiel degrades Israel with the metaphor of a Hittite mother [Ezekiel 16:3, 45].
Many Hittites were one of the major tribes living in the land of Canaan during the time of the patriarchs[(Genesis 23; Genesis 26:34-35; Genesis 27:46; Genesis 28:1; Genesis 28:6-8], and there are also references to Hittites during the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah.
The Hittite people existed in two major phases: when they were a world power, and later when they declined to become one of the Canaanite tribes dwelling in the region. Originally, the Hiittites never self-identified as Hittites, but called their language Nesite and their land Hatti, referring to themselves as the people of Hatti. These people would most likely refer to themselves as Nesites or perhaps Nesians, but they later became known as Hittites in scriptures. When the once-mighty kingdom collapsed, those in the former Syrian vassal states kept the culture alive, becoming a type of Neo-Hittites.

Hi love! I hope this is what you were looking for 🧡
Can You Open This?
Rebekah Mikaelson x reader
Rebekah Mikaelson was strong. In the few years you had been dating her you had witnessed said strength displayed in many ways, from defeating her foes, to lifting the heaviest of items with ease, none of it seemed to phase the blonde original. Though, that never stopped you from testing those limits. Which is exactly what led you to this moment. Maybe, just maybe you made sure the lid to the pickles was impossible for you to open, if only to see Bekah’s arms flex as she broke the seal of super glue you had applied. You knew it wouldn’t stop her from her goal, but getting to watch the show was worth it on its own.
It doesn’t even take her a full second to remove the lid, completely oblivious to your tampering.
“You’re the best.” You tug on her hand to bring her within your height range and place a quick kiss to her cheek in thanks.
“Anything for you, sweet little princess.” Giggling at her antics, you roll your eyes as you make your way back to the couch you had been snuggled on.
“Aren’t you going to eat those?” She gestures in the vague direction you had left the newly opened jar.
“No, not hungry anymore.”
“Are you feeling okay lovely?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” She stares at you for a beat before lifting you off of the couch and sitting you in her lap. You aren’t phased by her slight man handling, the warmth of being in your girlfriends embrace overriding all of your senses.
“Why would you have me open them if you didn’t plan on eating them?”
“For science.” She’s about to argue with you further when you place your hand in hers, splaying your fingers along her palm and eyeing the size difference. “I’m so tiny compared to you.” You don’t give her a chance to answer before your hands begin to wander, first to her arms, the muscles there twitching at your touch, then to her abdomen, where they eventually stop. You lift your shirt to reveal your own tummy, the expanse of your stomach looking nothing like Rebekah’s. “You’re literally ripped, what the hell.” She can’t help but to bark a laugh at your childish behavior.
“I love you exactly how you are, adorable tiny hands and all. You’re an angel, my angel and I wouldn’t have you any other way.” Her kind words bring a blush to your cheeks, your heart beating a touch faster.
“You’re such a sap, but I love you too.” As you settle into Rebekah’s lap once again, you continue playing with her fingers as you watch T.V., the jar on the counter long forgotten by the two of you.

in the shadows || elijah & tatia
(1442 Florence)
“Are you certain it is the right decision? This is not something that can be undone.
“I am certain...”
Tumblr media
Having lived for four centuries already, it only made sense for the Original family to attempt settling in the beautiful city of Florence at least once. At the time, it was one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe. The economy was thriving, and so was the culture. All in all, it seemed to be the perfect place for art-loving Klaus, romance-seeking Rebekah, reckless Kol, and the righteous older brother Elijah.
Yes, it seemed to be the perfect place, if not for one small detail. Although they had made sure that Mikael wouldn’t have been drawn to their doorstep, Elijah couldn’t help but notice something strange. Despite no obvious threat, he could feel a strong presence lurking in the shadows of the city. His siblings didn’t seem to notice it, however. That made him even more suspicious. Never once in their lifetime had his instincts betrayed him. And though Elijah wasn’t sure if that continuous presence would eventually reveal itself to be an ominous one, he thought it was best to remain cautious. Times of peace within his family were scarce after all.
It only took a month for this elusive aura to finally interact with him. One day, Elijah decided to retreat to his chambers, where he felt a familiar smell. Although vampire senses were heightened to such a degree that one could easily become overwhelmed with the sheer vastness of sensations, there were times when it was beyond the bounds of possibility to ignore some things. That smell. The smell of flowers.
The residence they had chosen was obviously decorated with a myriad of different types of flowers. Most of the time, Elijah wouldn’t pay any attention to them, since it was not his responsibility to maintain the décor of the house. However, the flowers which were made into a neat bouquet and placed carefully on his desk were no ordinary ones. Or rather, they were ordinary, but unobtainable in that part of the world. The common flowers back from the time when his heart was beating in a human rhythm.
                      They were her favourite…
Elijah mused sadly, as he remembered the last time he was in the vicinity of this particular species of plants. It was after their mother showed them her burial site. It seemed so bare and lifeless. How could Elijah let her rest in such a cold place? That day was perhaps one of the saddest in the course of their lives. Both he and Niklaus spend hours planting those flowers as if draping a blanket of her beloved piece of nature over her.
It was indeed a sad memory. But although the sight of flowers caused the ache to grab his heart in a tight grasp, it also made him smile ever so slightly. That mixture of emotions was not an unfamiliar one. He’d felt it before, every time his thoughts drifted to her.
Attached to the bouquet was a note. However simple, it still managed to shake the Original vampire. The handwriting was not a familiar one, but the words suggested a previous encounter.
“A thin line separates the realms of
the living and the dead. If you keep
this a secret, as a sign of goodwill,
                     we shall meet again…”
Given the sensitive memories associated with the flowers, Elijah decided against telling Niklaus about the mysterious situation. But the inexplicable appearance of that strange bouquet was only the beginning. Elijah tried his best to locate the person responsible for bringing it into his chambers, but none of the servants knew the bouquet’s origin.
A few days later, Elijah felt the presence once again: it was during a banquet his brother had thrown to celebrate some irrelevant occasion. A multitude of people of both ordinary and supernatural nature had come to celebrate with his younger brother. Elijah, on the other hand, was unable to enjoy the moment, too preoccupied with the bizarre circumstances of the last few days. The crowd was a tiring distraction in his thoughts, so he decided to retreat to more secluded parts of the residence. Walking aimlessly through empty corridors, he picked up a strange sound. It was most certainly a lyre, he was sure of that. But it was not the instrument that sparked the Original’s interest – it was the melody.
Four centuries and he still felt as if he had only heard it the day before. The sweetest melody he had ever heard in his life. In his human life.
The next moments were a blur; Elijah wouldn’t even remember making the decision to follow the source of the melody. His feet carried him towards one of the least visited rooms in the residence. It was a small, empty room of which none of the siblings had any use; hence, they decided to lock it away. But as Elijah was heading towards the door, he could see the faint candlelight through the cracks between the door and the frame. And although for the past month he had been preparing himself for the worst, something from deep within him told him that whatever was behind the closed doors would not pose any danger.
And yet, for the first time in years, his heart picked up a faster, almost anxious pace.
He reached out his hand to push open the heavy, wooden door. And what he saw would have taken his breath away, if not for his immortal state.
Before him stood a woman, dressed in clothes appropriate for Italian nobility. Her dark hair was put up in a typical Florentine hairstyle, however, rid of any unnecessary accessories. Although she was not facing him, he’d known her face better than anyone else’s in the world – and he knew that she didn’t need any accessories to outshine every Florentine lady with her unmatched beauty. Fingers of her right hand danced gracefully on the strings of the lyre, plucking them in a delicate, and yet decisive manner. The melody which she used to hum each time she visited the small garden behind her hut. There had been a few occasions when Elijah used to wait there for her, hoping to sneak away far from the prying eyes of other villagers.
It only took a few more seconds for her to reach the last notes. And when she did, she turned to finally face him.
Elijah had already known her to be Tatia. And still, he couldn’t have been more unprepared for the sight of her face. In his eyes, immortality only served as a highlight of her features. The everlasting beauty that was her smile lit up the room more than a thousand candles ever could. “It has been a long time, Elijah…” even the way his name sounded on her lips, so unique compared to anyone else who has ever said it. Her voice always had that uncanny ability to make his name sound like an intimate song that only the two of them could hear.
“How…” her sudden appearance rendered him almost speechless, unable to bring himself to ask the multitude of questions that were circling in his mind. How was she alive? Was she just but a spectre brought to life by some evil magic? Was she only an illusion created to bewitch him? “This cannot be.”
Tatia’s smile lessened a little upon seeing his reaction to her return. Truthfully, it was exactly how she expected him to react, and yet she still didn’t feel ready to explain everything to him in the very first instance. There were four centuries of difference between them, and explaining what had happened and what had kept her away for so long… was part of the reason why she hadn’t made her return sooner.
Putting the instrument aside, she made her way closer to him. Time created a distance between them, but it was so easy for Tatia to close it in a matter of a second. Though still separated by a few inches, she was glad to be standing so close to him. For years, she had been following him and his family, close enough to keep her eye on them, but far enough for none of them to notice her. It was only at that time, when they had decided to settle in her beloved city of Florence, that she made up her mind – four centuries was enough. It was the time for her to get back what was once taken from her.
“Out of all people, you should know,” she began, wanting to cherish the moment of their reunion, before what might have as well been the end of their relationship. For years, Tatia was afraid that Elijah would not forgive her for the deeds she’d done. The magnitude of her sins was something she would eventually have to explain if she wanted him to understand how she was brought back to life and what kept her away for so many years. But... all of that, she wanted to postpone. “death is only but an obstacle. One that we have managed to cheat quite easily,” she told him, taking his hands in hers.
“You died, Tatia… Mother took your life.” was all Elijah could tell her. Her return, however pleasant, was impossible. His mother told him clearly that Tatia had died. How could she be standing right in front of him centuries later? Her blood was used to make him and his siblings into vampires, but neither he nor Niklaus managed to share their blood with her before his mother took her life in order to bind Niklaus’ curse. Her presence was impossible… right?
Well, Elijah wasn’t right about everything.
Tatia’s gaze fell to the floor. His mother took the blame. She didn’t understand how Esther managed to manipulate her son’s memory, but it was clear he didn’t know it was him who had caused her death. Yet another thing that, at some point, she would have to explain. And that might have been the one thing she least wanted to.
“I know… ” she began, her gaze dropping to the floor.  “You must have many questions, but please, allow me to explain it at another time,” she said, wanting to take her hands away. For a moment, his words made her think that he wouldn’t take her return as kindly as she had hoped. But at the exact moment she tried to pull away, he held her hands even tighter, pulling her closer to him. Tatia let out a breath, as she didn’t expect him to do that. A small shiver ran down her spine at the sheer excitement his touch brought her.
“Answer me just one question then,” Elijah said, looking down into her brown eyes. For her, it was enough to forget the centuries of separation between them. Those eyes, the ones that saw deep into her soul were still the eyes of the man she loved. All her fears seemed to be quelled in that one moment their eyes met.
“And what would that question be?” she asked, a playful smirk gracing her face, as her cheeks started to blush ever so slightly. There was nothing improper about this situation; after all, they had a relationship in the past. But something about the centuries that passed seemed to add to the thrill of being that close again.
Elijah didn’t answer right away, instead pulling her gently by the hands so that they both backed out of the small room into the corridor. It was only lit by the candles in the room, which meant it was much darker. For them, of course, it wasn’t a problem. But it did add to the intimate feeling of the scene. What was more important, however, was that in the corridor both of them could hear the faint music from the banquet held in the other part of the residence.
“Shall you offer me this dance?” he asked, allowing himself a moment of sweet ignorance. Even at that moment, he still thought it all to be a dream. And if it was, he didn’t want to waste it on questions.
In response to his question, Tatia offered him the brightest of her smiles.
“Always…”

what if- we were maybe- possibly- vampires? - Originals Fluff
A/N: Another Originals fic- I think I’m going to start posting daily (don’t get your hopes up, it might only be able to do daily’s because im on break). I liked this is a lot, so if you want i can do a sequel/prequel.
masterlist!
i’ve seen a mistake! (please use this whenever you can)
Context: This is a bit of an AU, but this is if Kaleb!Kol never happened, and it’s before Freya.
Tumblr media
“alright- i think it’s time we tell her.” Rebekah said to her brothers, you’d just left to grab your phone.
“No way! What if she’s scared of us, Bex? She could freak out and go mad!” Kol was against the idea, he liked you around, so he couldn’t have you afraid they were all going to kill you.
“As much as i hate to say this, Kol is right. We cannot tell her. Even if she was unbothered by our-” Elijah was searching for the right word, “differences, she’d always be on edge, worried we’d kill her.”
“I think she’s strong enough. Brother- you have seen how she acts around danger, if anything, she will love it.” Klaus adored you in his own special way, he loved to hear stories from you. He thought it was adorable that you grandest stories would happen on one of his family’s Tuesdays, but nevertheless he still liked to hear your stories, even if they weren’t anything new.
“Thank you, Nik! If we ever plan on telling her, it’d better be soon, the longer we wait, the worse it’ll be.” Rebekah and you were close, she loved, in the nicest way, how you could live and die. How you could find someone to love, settle down, have kids, watch them grow up and eventually die by the one you loved.
Don’t get me wrong, you and Rebekah didn’t just girl-talk all the time. She offered to teach you to fight, which was difficult for her to do, considering she had 10 times the strength of you while not wanting to hurt you, and she was a greta listener. You liked talking to her about everything, she would always hype you up if you were upset about something, she even offered to kill someone who’d bullied you in grade school.
“Maybe you are right, but if she gets upset, we cannot and should not compel her. she is on vervain, thank you for that,  Rebekah ,” Rebekah nodded, happy in her decision to give you a vervain necklace, “How-” Elijah started again, but Kol cut him off.
“I can hear her footsteps.” Kol nodded his head towards the door, and you promptly walked through.
“Hey guys! Sorry that took forever, i think I lost my phone...” you trailed off as you saw your friends all gathered around, looking serious, “is everything alright?”
“We need to talk to you, about something important.” Klaus started off, they formed a circle with you, trying to make you feel equal.
“We are vampires,” Rebekah had decided to say the hard part, thinking it’d come down softest if she said it, “We aren’t going to hurt you.” She let you know you were safe, just in case you didn’t know that, but she couldn’t tell what you were feeling, your face was still, serious.
“We are the first. The Originals.” Elijah said, trying to read you, too.
The first thing you said was, “How old are you?”, your expression unmoving, except a glint of anxious curiosity.
Kol looked from sibling to sibling, looking for a sign on whether they were going to tell her.
“1000 years old, some of us-” Kol glared at Klaus quickly, “weren’t conscious for all of them.”
Your face lit up. “Really?”
It shocked a few of the Originals, but Elijah nodded.
“Does that mean you met Hamilton? And Emily Dickinson-” You were looking around the room, trying to contain your excitement, “And Van Gogh?”
“A bit of a prat, if you ask me.” Klaus said under his breath, just a bit too loud.
“No. Way. That is so cool! I have so many questions- 1000 years ago- that was about the time of the Vikings, right? ARE YOU GUYS VIKINGS!?” This time, Kol nodded between chuckles, “That’s why you were all so amused when i mentioned i learned runes in 3rd grade!”
“I did not expect you to be so okay with this, if I’m totally honest.” The somber mood was officially lifted as Rebekah smiled.
“You were alive before America was ‘discovered’?!” you made sure to put air quotes around ‘discovered’, you did some quick math and added, “And- you were already 492 years old!”
“I told you she was going to love it.” Klaus commented while you were still asking questions.

the last great american dynasty
Rebekah rode up on the afternoon train, it was sunny
Her saltbox house on the coast took her mind off St. Louis
Rebekah is Rebekah “Betty” Semple West Pierce a sculptor, and philanthropist born on April 17, 1915 in St. Louis. She also composed music, one of many similarities between her and Taylor.
Tumblr media
Bill was the heir to the Standard Oil name, and money
Bill refers to William Hale "Bill" Harkness, the grandson of David Harkness who invested with John Rockefeller in Standard Oil. When David died he left what would today be over a billion dollars to Bill’s father, who was also named William Harkness. Eventually Bill inherited what would today be approximately $185M dollars from his father (approx 70% of this wealth was from Standard Oil shares).
And the town said "How did a middle class divorcée do it?"
In 1939 Rebekah married Dickson Pierce, descendent of President Franklin Pierce. However they divorced in 1946, and then in 1947 she married Bill. Her father was a stockbroker, and her grandfather started a trust company - so she wasn’t exactly middle class, but her wealth was significantly less than the wealth of the Harkness family.
The wedding was charming, if a little gauche There's only so far new money goes They picked out a home and called it "Holiday House"
Holiday House was built on Watch Hill in Rhode Island by Mrs. George Grant Snowden who, contrary to the song, named it Holiday House. Seems like this house has been having raucous 4th of July parties for a long time - at least according to this NYTimes article from July 6, 1941:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their parties were tasteful, if a little loud
The language here mirrors that of the first verse - “the wedding was charming, if a little gauche”.
The doctor had told him to settle down
Bill died in August (interesting!!!!) 1954 of a heart attack - he had also had a heart attack the year prior, but that one was obviously not fatal. He and Rebekah had one child together named Edith who eventually committed suicide at the age of 34.
It must have been her fault his heart gave out
This line calls attention to how women are frequently blamed for, well, everything. Something that is explored more in mad woman.
And they said "There goes the last great American dynasty" Who knows, if she never showed up what could've been There goes the maddest woman this town has ever seen She had a marvelous time ruining everything
The chorus and the title of this song seems to come from the title of a book about Rebekah called “Blue Blood: How Rebekah Harkness, One of the Richest Women in the World, Destroyed a Great American Family” written by Craig Unger. The from cover of the book reads “The story of Rebekah Harkness and how one of the richest families in the world descended into drugs, madness, suicide, and violence”. [Also, interesting that the background of the cover I found looks a lot like the blue/pink in the Lover cover!]
The chorus also references “mad woman”, another track on folklore. This song subverts the idea of a mad woman. The title and subtitle of Blue Blood use Rebekah as a scapegoat for everything that went wrong, blaming her solely for violence, drugs, mental illness, and loss. It uses several classic, sexist tropes of a gold-digger, a “crazy” woman, and the whore. However, in this song Rebekah is not taking the blame or feeling guilt about what is happening - she is having a marvelous time.
Another interesting thing is changing “great American family” - family is defined as “a group consisting of parents and children living together in a household” - to the word “great American dynasty” - dynasty is defined as “a line of hereditary rulers of a country.” I find this specifically interesting because dynasty, unlike family, acknowledges a long lineage of people and decisions that lead to this outcome, as opposed to placing all the responsibility and blame on Rebekah, who only entered the picture at the tail end of this story. The title of Blue Blood has no accountability for the people who were involved with the dynasty before - framing it as if David Harkness didn’t choose to leave his wealth to his lineage, as if Bill Harkness did not choose to marry Rebekah, and as if the wealth Bill inherited wasn’t already diminished by 81.5% from what the family’s original wealth was (as passed down from David Harkness to Bill’s father).
However, Taylor is changing the narrative here to give Rebekah a more joyful way to be remembered.
Tumblr media
Rebekah gave up on the Rhode Island set forever Flew in all the Bitch Pack friends from the city
Rebekah and her fellow debutantes formed a group called the Bitch Pack and were known for causing a scene at parties, doing strip teases on the tables or putting mineral oil in the punch, which acts as a laxative.
Tumblr media
Taylor is drawing a parallel here to her famous squad days, when her and her group of girl friends were constantly under fire from the internet/press.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Filled the pool with champagne and swam with the big names
Rumor has it that Rebekah cleaned her pool with Dom Perignon. Being a socialite and one of the richest women in America, she frequently kept high profile/famous/successful company - hence the “big names”. Stories of her involve J.D. Salinger, Alvin Ailey, and Andy Warhol, to name a few. However, swimming in champaign is also a metaphor or the carefree life of the rich and famous - something that she used in This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things, from Reputation, where Taylor describes a similar scene:
It was so nice throwing big parties
Jumping to the pool from the balcony
Everyone swimming in a champagne sea
And there are no rules when you show up here
Bass beat rattling the chandelier
Feeling so Gatsby for that whole year
Another interesting tidbit is that the house where The Great Gatsby (1974) was filmed is the Rosecliff Mansion in Rhode Island, about 1 hour away from Holiday House.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And blew through the money on the boys and the ballet
Rebekah married twice more after Bill’s death, once in 1961 and once in 1974. As a life long dancer, she spent the majority of her time and energy founding (in 1964) and developing The Harkness Ballet Foundation, which still exists today as The Harkness Foundation for Dance. As part of this endeavor she also established a ballet training school and the Harkness Theater. She paid for everything for the company, from teachers to housing to plastic surgery. The company went on tour and performed at the White House, although it had a generally negative critical reception. At the peak of the company’s success Rebekah abandoned the project and started a different company
Tumblr media
And losing on card game bets with Dalí
Although I couldn’t find anything specifically referencing a card game, Rebekah was good friends with Salvadore Dali. Here they are pictured holding a press conference together.
Tumblr media
A portion of Rebekah’s ashes are in a $250,000 urn created by Dali called “The Chalice of Life”. The urn was designed to spin, so that Rebekah could always be dancing.
Tumblr media
And they said "There goes the last great American dynasty" Who knows, if she never showed up, what could've been There goes the most shameless woman this town has ever seen She had a marvelous time ruining everything They say she was seen on occasion Pacing the rocks staring out at the midnight sea And in a feud with her neighbor She stole his dog and dyed it key lime green
According to the NYTimes, Rebekah dyed her neighbors cat green
Fifty years is a long time Holiday House sat quietly on that beach Free of women with madness Their men and bad habits, and then it was bought by me
Weeee the classic Taylor Swift storytelling twist! This is a great flex by Taylor to just casually drop in a reminder that she is a rich woman who has made her own money and can buy whatever she wants. The phrasing of this also let’s us know that the house is no longer free of women (plural, more than one woman) with madness (we’ll hear more about being a mad woman later in the album), their (possessive, something owned or bought) men, and their bad habits (bearding?). Taylor is admitting to having all of these things. Who knows, if I never showed up what could've been There goes the loudest woman this town has ever seen I had a marvelous time ruining everything I had a marvelous time Ruining everything A marvelous time Ruining everything A marvelous time I had a marvelous time
This makes me think of the line at the end of Miss Americana - “Sorry I was loud in my house. That I bought. With the songs that I wrote about my life.”
Taylor, like Rebekah, is used to being blamed for everything and causing a scene. Even her purchase of Holiday House caused considerable backlash and commotion - with the governor creating a tax in 2015 (two years after Taylor purchased the house) called the “Taylor Swift tax” on homes worth over $1M dollars - something that affected many people in Rhode Island, especially those with large houses and vacation homes. All Taylor did was buy a house to live in (with her money, that she got from writing songs about her life), and she was immediately brought under fire.
However, like she did with Rebekah’s story, Taylor is flipping that narrative and focusing on how much fun she is having instead.

PLOT BUNNY
Okay, If any of you have seen my Tumblr lately, I’ve pretty much been obsessed with Schitt’s Creek. As I’m sitting and drinking my coffee, I got the idea of a Schitt’s Creek/Vampire Diaries crossover.
Here is how it would play out:
The wealthy Mikaelson Family looses everything. The eldest, Elijah, invests in a crooked business partner Tristen de Martel, who, along with his sister, runs off with their money. Due to Tristen not paying the Mikaelson’s taxes they loose everything.
Tumblr media
A few years back, Elijah and his brother Klaus had discovered this small town in Virginia called Mystic Falls. The name sounded ridiculous to them so Elijah bought it as a joke. Now, it is the only asset they have left and they have to move to this town. So, the four Mikaelson siblings, Elijah (Johnny Rose), Klaus (David Rose), and the twins: Kol (Moria Rose/Jake hybrid) and Rebekah (Alexis Rose) all have to go and live there.
They move into an rundown Inn that is run by Elizabeth and Caroline Forbes (a Stevie/Patrick hybrid). At first everything is rocky and does not go well. Klaus and Caroline clash but slowly build a friendship but blossoms into something more when her mother dies, leaving her the Inn. They hit a bumpy road at first, Caroline not willing to deal with Klaus’s shit while Klaus is nursing a broken heart over Aurora’s betrayal with her brother Tristen. Eventually they become good friends.......which would develop into something more.
Tumblr media
With the help of Elijah and Klaus, Caroline fixes up the Inn and slowly during the process, Klaus and Caroline fall in love: both characters growing and changing. Klaus stops being this selfish man who thinks buying love is the way to happiness and Caroline steps out of her comfort zone.  All the while, Elijah is working tiredly to get the Mikaelson family back on the map.
When Elijah is finally able to get the Inn franchised, and have it settled in different parts of the country, Caroline and Klaus decide to stay in Mystic Falls and run the original Inn together. Much like the show, the story would end with a wedding between out favorite couple.
Tumblr media
BOUNS CONTENT:
We get to see Rebekah grow from the selfish rich girl into an independent woman. She falls in love with the town vet, Matthew Donovan. However, in the end both characters decide that when their careers take them in different directions, they separate; knowing that they both loved each other deeply.
Kol, a VERY OVERDRAMATIC actor who had been out of work for awhile (previously being on some ridiculous teen vampire show) is able to get back into film. He does a seriously bad B-rated movie but Rebekah helps him get it off the air. Meanwhile, he finds himself in several odd and amusing situations, especially since he is a bit of a diva. I also would make it a goal to have him hook up with just about everyone. Stealing the “Kol is no ones ex and everybody's ex” line from the show.
Tumblr media
Other castings:
Elena: Twyla- small town waitress with a heart of gold.
Carol Lockwood: Jocelyn
Tyler Lockwood: Roland Schitt
Stefan Salvatore: Mutt Schitt
Bonnie: Ronnie
Damon Salvatore: Bob (so in love with his wife Katherine, who is clearly cheating on him with everyone-but we never actually see Katherine-much like Gwen in the show)
Enzo: Ray (man of many talents)

Loyalty - Marcel Gerard
Summary: With Mystic Falls out of sight and New Orleans in view, you decide to make friends with the locals. Helpful when said friend turns out to be the King
Warnings: M/M smut (21+), Bareback (Wrap Before you Tap!)
Tumblr media
When you all arrived at the Mikaelson’s old kingdom, it was nearing lunchtime, so you expected the streets would be empty, however New Orleans was bustling with activity, whether people were visiting shops, eating at café’s or painting in the streets. You winded your way through the French Quarter “Klaus, where are we going?” You asked “The King’s Quarters, I hope they are hospitable to their original king” Klaus explained. Eventually the group reached a courtyard “Hello! Anyone there? The conquering hero returns!” Kol rolled his eyes “Niklaus, no ones here, you can stop hamming it up.” “Look who’s talking!” Tyler snapped back “Guys! We’ve all had a long night, we don’t need to be at each others throats.” You said “Look if we split up & try to find supernatural elements, maybe we’ll find the king in the quarter, “Stefan, you have the biggest chance of draining someone, so I need you to mind our bags, if something happens, we’ll call you to help, everyone else, move out!” With the plan in order Klaus took Rebekah, Elijah escorted a still grumpy Tyler & Kol, and you moved out by yourself, armed with the various detection skills you learnt from The Council & Klaus.
As you wondered the streets for a while, you came across a karaoke bar. Deciding to give it a shot/break, you headed into the roarcus crowd, which mainly consisted of women, which you understood once you glanced to the stage. A beautiful man was performing ‘How You Like Me Now?’ He was dark skinned, had the brightest smile you had ever seen & such a great energy, you found yourself entranced by the man, eventually he saw you & flashed a very flirty wink and a grin in your direction which melted you, how you wanted him to fuck you, then Klaus might turn him so he could be in this open relationship you & Klaus had. Eventually he finished his number & went over to get a drink, you hastened over while the women went back to their business “Sir, excuse me” the man turned “Hello sweet thing, I saw you in the crowd. Here for an autograph? Or something else maybe?” He was very forward but had such a swaveness that you couldn’t be flustered, he let you answer his questions. “Maybe another time, I’m new in town and I needed some help around.” “Sure thing Mr.” “Y/N.” “Well Mr. Y/N I’m Marcel Gerard and something tells me I shouldn’t keep a gentleman like you waiting.” He gulfed his drink down and led you out.
You spent a good time with this new man, as you walked through the Quarter, getting a good idea of where everything was “Thanks Marcel for all the help, but I need to ask you about The King’s Quarters.” He stopped “What? There is no King’s Quarters in New-“ “Look Marcel, your charming to get me to shake me off your back, but I see the daylight ring on your finger, the crescent of the Mikaelson’s is old and faded to blend in with the public, but it’s still there.” Marcel grinned “Well ain’t you clever babe.” “Well after all this is settled maybe you can call me more than babe, but until then, I need to know where the King of New Orleans is.” Marcel let out a gutteral laugh “Baby boy, you’re looking right at him.” You smiled “Thank you, your grace, let’s walk and talk my situation.” You messaged Klaus on the way over ‘I found him, get back to King’s Quarters, also he’s very flirty, do with that what you will’
You crossed back to the King’s Quarters & found the entire group waiting. Marcel crossed over, locking eyes with the hybrid “Klaus” “Marcel” he responded “Wait, THE Marcel?” Klaus had told you about him, the only vampire he ever made, the one he though Mikael had slaughtered. Marcel grinned “This one you have Klaus, he’s smart, don’t let him go.” Klaus smirks “Wasn’t planning on it, never will.” “Been a long time roughly a hundred years since papa ran you out of town.” Your eyes widened, this was not a good way to start a conversation “Yes he did, recently I turned daddy into dust with Tyler’s help, so that takes care of the hunting issue.” Tyler beamed happily which Marcel noticed “You made your own loyal hybrids.” “My fellow creatures, with the help of Y/N. So I’m no longer the lonely King you knew, now I’m a fully fledged hybrid.” Marcel stood to ponder this “If I had known you were back, I’d have thrown you a damn parade.” Marcel broke into a happy laugh which Klaus reciprocated and the two hugged “Well, I guess I owe my sire a drink.” “Amongst other things” Marcel grinned at Klaus’s proposition “Head upstairs the dining room is the ending room on the left” you turned to Kol & Stefan “You two need to handle our bags, I still need to calm you down Kol.” “No matter sweetheart, I have to get ready for a date anyway.” You spluttered “You didn’t comepl a townsperson did you?” Tyler silently laughed not wanting to erk Kol’s wrath “No, I’m capable of making men want me online without having to do some eye magic.” grinning as you turned, you went into Marcel’s pad. A dining room/kitchen was presented, with a long hallway, connecting the bedrooms & the study room. Extremely tired following a long drive & the attempts to find Marcel, you picked a far off room, had Tyler drop your bags in before you yourself dropped off.
After what felt like a blissful sleep, you woke up to the sounds of men shouting: Klaus and Marcel. Agitated, you flapped a pillow over your ears, but couldn’t block it out. Eventually you heard distinctly Elijah, trying to get them to calm down. Once both raised their tones to Elijah, you realised they weren’t being happily rowdy, they were arguing. You stood up, exited your room, not caring your hair was tossled & stomped up to the dining room “Guys, I can hear you screaming down the hallway, what’s going on?” “Marcel is being difficult” Klaus started “Difficult? It wouldn’t be if what you were asking wasn’t public suicide!” Marcel retaliated “So given none of you want to be direct, Elijah will you explain?” “Gladly” Elijah returned to you “Klaus was King of New Orleans and given he was chased out by Mikael, thinks he deserves his throne back, as it would give us protection against Esther if she retaliates, however Marcel has been ruling since he left and won’t give it up.” Now everything made sense “Key word: IF.” Marcel responded “Also there’s protection on the Quarter.” “Not enough if we were able to get in easily.” Marcel brushed this off, “You avoided your authority since you left, why should I even give you the throne back?” “Because I was forced out against my will, I never abdicated, I wanted to return but I had to deal with Mikael and my hybrids.” “There is an entire legacy left by me, how could you ever master it in a day.” “I would master it in less & need I remind you Marcellus, I also have a legacy, all aligning these rooms, even standing before me, however this tapestry of it is showing it’s maker clear disrespect.” “How dare you! You may be my maker but here in New Orleans, I am your king & I demand respect!” Klaus & Marcel’s voices had continued to rise throughout their exchange so they didn’t notice yours bellowing “FOR FUCK’S SAKE, BOTH OF YOU STOP!” You yelled. Klaus & Marcel taken aback, fell silent “Thank you! Now Klaus, we can do this discussion without it turning into screaming, you’ve done it with me. Marcel, a bit of thinking could help everything. Technically Klaus did not abdicate, whenever a leader goes off to a war or on a visit somewhere, they don’t suddenly abdicate, so Klaus should be king, now he has returned.” Klaus grinned but you shot him a warning look, causing it to fall “Now, no one is trying to discount what you have done Marcel, you took something that burnt & made it incredible, however Klaus returning to power means massive protection and Marcel, if your guests are protected here, then why were we able to walk straight in?” Marcel’s slight smile when you complimented his legacy fell at this. “Now, you supernatural’s can process things fast, but for me it’s been less than a full day then when we started running from Mystic Falls, my own home for 22 years! And I have put up with it and not complained, but instead of respect, I’m met with men having a cock fight over something that could be resolved if you weren’t shoving sticks up your ass! Elijah moderate this damn conversation, I’m leaving. And do not call me back unless you have reached a fucking agreement!” You stormed away from the compound, out into the New Orleans night.
You spent a good deal of time looking around, you had purchased a nice set of beads from a trinket shop, and had looked around at the paintings of art. Whilst there you met a woman named Cami, who took you to one of the restaurants and without mentioning everything, you gave her a rundown of what was occurring “Well your partner should know that Marcel is incredibly stubborn. He won’t stop till he gets his way.” “Well that’s marvellous to me!” You said very sarcastically, Cami noticing gave you a hug “I’m sure it’ll work out.” At that exact moment, Elijah went through the door & walked up to you, taking you aside “Klaus & Marcel have worked things out, they are waiting for you at the King’s Quarters.” You nodded, said your goodbyes to Cami and walked back with Elijah. You entered the King’s Quarters and saw Klaus & Marcel sitting together at the table ‘At least they’re sitting together with no sign of a scuffle’ you thought. Elijah excused himself as you sat down “So? What’s the decision” Marcel cleared his throat “Klaus is the king, he’ll have a time of growing into the role, as I’ll help him get used to the supernatural community and how things are run. I’ll stay on as a Vampire advisor.” “See! That wasn’t so hard was it!” You chimed in “I could see how you’d think that, but you know of my history right, how I turned” you nodded “You were 21 years old, a new life on the horizon & you were attacked by a racist. Klaus saved you, and aware you could be struck down by the local racist group, turned you and gave you the skills to take them out.” “Exactly, I’m not the guy to run off from a fight, so me doing this is difficult and rare.” You nodded “It’s a great thing you’re doing Marcel, and we’ll make sure you are still given the respect you deserve.” Marcel subtly grinned while laughing ‘Well, I know you will.” “And what’s that supposed to mean?” You asked.
“Love, there is still a condition that this deal was struck on.” You turned to Klaus as he made his statement “And what was that?” “Marcel wants in on our open relationship.” You turned to Marcel “Yeah, that’s what swayed me, you see I could smell your arousal as you watched me perform and that made my cock hard, if you hadn’t gotten me to take you around, I would have pulled you into the bathroom & fucked you. I also liked how you swung me round when I was arguing with Klaus, you have guts, I can see why my sire likes you. And now, I want to have you as well. So what’s it gonna be, take it or leave it?” He whispered the last part in your ear “You said you were the king, show me that power. Make my mind up for me.” Marcel threw you both onto the table & kissed you, speedily taking both your clothes off “You want Some hot chocolate babe?” “Yes sir, I want every drop.” He grinned “Then suck my cock.” He moved upwards to your mouth as you sucked his cock “Oh fuck!” Marcel moaned “Yeah, like that, suck it down.” As Marcel got his cock sucked by you, he looked forwards to see Klaus stroking himself, his portege and his lover engaged with each other had made him painfully hard. Marcel pulled himself off you & lifted you up to see Klaus “Look what you do to him! The big string hybrid, stroking his cock for you, for us!” You kissed Marcel again, running your hands down his muscular chest “Fuck, you’re so beautiful!” You moaned, Marcel grinned “Well, gotta make my man happy.” You sucked his balls, causing Marcel to throw his head back and scream out “OH FUCK YES! THAT’S IT Y/N! KEEP GOING & YOU’LL MAKE ME CUM!” You pulled off, and heard Marcel whine “Shoot your load in my ass Marcel, I want you.” Marcel’s whine turned into excitement, he grinned before slamming you onto the table before thrusting in.
You let out a massive groan, he was massive, probably as big as Klaus. You set a nice rhythm with Marcel spinning his hips, smacking into your prostate. “Oh fuck!” You moaned out “That’s it baby, fall apart from my dick!” Marcel groaned in such a passionate beautiful way, you leant up to kiss him. “You look so beautiful Marcel.” He grinned “You are as well, look at you, all covered in sweat, gleaming as much as me.” Marcel suddenly changed to vampire speed, making you cry out as you were brought nearly to your end, when he suddenly returned to normal speed “What the?-” you started but Marcel placed his index finger on your lips “Nah uh Y/N, remember you wanted me to show you how I can be King, and this King is benevolent, he wants you to come with him, and I’m nowhere near done.” He shot a grin, pearly white teeth agleam and continued his torturous pace. Your toes curled from how good Marcel was dicking you down, and you clenched them around the table for a grip. Sensing your tenseness from his powerful thrusts, Marcel grinned down at you and persisted relentlessly "Fuck:, he groaned out, throwing his head back, when he turned back down, you saw the familiar black veins under his eyes, he wanted to feed. "Sorry Y/N, you smell mouth-watering, I've gotta have you." he said, lowering himself down to your neck, "Then take me" you softly cooed, turning your head to the side, granting him better access. Marcel did not waste time and struck, drinking you down deeply as he continued to fuck you. The strength of Marcel's pace and his and soon you noticed you were approaching your end “Fuck Marcel, I’m gonna cum!”, the vampire withdrawing from your neck, a trail of blood oozing from his mouth “That’s right Y/N, cum for me, shoot it over me.” You moaned as you did as he asked, shooting your load over his chest, he scooped it up & tasted it “Damn, your load is as good as your blood!” He kissed you, both of you now covered in blood and seed as Marcel resumed his brutal pace, making you cry out even more as Marcel bucked, determined to reach his peak as well. “Oh fuck, I’m gonna cum! OH FUCK YES!” Marcel yelled as he shot his load inside you. Falling back onto the table, you both drew in breath, Marcel leaning down to kiss you “My king, he’s all yours.” He zipped up to his wide open room, this time the observer and watched the hybrid walk over to you “Well love, when you get your strength back, want to break the table?” You grinned, leaning up to kiss the hybrid.

❝ my life's just a faded memory of what i can't have ❞
A marriage to a Mikaelson was unheard of. In the thousand years the Originals had been alive, they'd been focused on one thing and only thing only: survival. They moved, every few years or so, to a new city, doing their best to escape the wrath of their father, Mikael. When word reached Mikael of where they'd settled, it was Klaus that prepared the arrangements for their departure. They would flee without sparing another thought.
Perhaps that was why Aniya was sat in the foyer, twisting at her rusted, bronze ring. Moonlight streamed through the curtains, and light jazz music bled from the streets. Truthfully, she wasn't supposed to be awake. Rebekah had brushed out her plaits and sent her off to bed not four hours ago. In another world, she might have listened.
But Niklaus had given her the bedroom next to Kol's. She supposed it was some kind of punishment, though she wasn't sure who it was aimed at. Even when she'd stepped into the compound, dirtied and drowned in her own blood, the Mikaelsons had looked at her as though she were a stranger. To Freya and Nik, she'd even been seen as a threat. Some sort of vessel for the Hollow, whoever that was.
It was Niklaus that demanded a 'head-dive,' though she wasn't sure what that meant. It wasn't until the bastard appeared in front of her and grabbed her head in his hands that she'd realized what he'd meant.
It felt as though all of her memories were being pulled out of her head.
There was no way to know how much he saw, nor was there any reassurance that he believed her in the first place. He was silent when his hands fell to his sides, his face void of any emotion. It was only after Rebekah had snapped him back into reality that he dragged her up the stairs and showed her the room she would be staying in.
The room itself was beautiful, with two windows and a balcony that hung over Bourbon Street. When Aniya slept, she could hear the inebriated laughter of the people below - a far cry from the chanting she would hear a thousand years ago. In any other world, she might've slept with the same tranquility as an infant.
Sadly, the soft jazz and laughter was quickly drowned out by the wails from the other room. They would come at two or three in the morning, like clockwork. Often accompanied by shattering glass and the name 'Davina,' falling from her husband's lips. In another world, she might have blamed him; but how could you expect loyalty from a spouse that couldn't even remember your name?
It was two o'clock now. The foyer was across the compound, as far from Kol's bedroom as she could get. It was moments like this that she was thankful the ritual hadn't altered her hearing. Because for now, she could pretend. She could tell herself the only reason she was awake, was because she had drinken too much tea earlier that day and couldn't bring herself to sleep.
She could tell herself her husband would wake in the morning and become worried when he realized she wasn't there. She could tell herself their marriage had lasted longer than two weeks before she passed, and the wedding rings they'd exchanged weren't made from their father's dulled swords.
And in the early morning hours, she could tell herself she was happy with how things had turned out. That she was happy to be alive.
    "What are you doing here?"
Aniya was met with the cold glare of her dear husband. The jazz music seemed to fade away, the sense of peace she'd felt disappearing in an instant. "I couldn't sleep."
He seemed to scoff at that. A bitter silence filled the room as he crossed to pour a round of bourbon into a clear glass. He drank it immediately, lightly wincing at the taste before pouring another. Truthfully, Aniya hadn't expected him to come here. Usually he was locked away, and Elijah would make an effort to leave food at his door. Of course, he rarely moved more than a crumb.
"You should eat." The statement went ignored as he drank another glass. "Rebekah says Originals can still die."
"Death is temporary, darling." His voice was hoarse, the remark had physically pained him to say. Even the world 'darling' tasted like poison. "Trust me."
The younger witch leaned back in her seat, pulling the warm blanket over her shoulders. Rebekah had only owned silk nightgowns, which were particularly useless when it came to warmth. She would have been given other clothes if she was meant to leave the house, but Elijah had made it a rule that she couldn't leave until she fit into modern-day society. That, of course, would start with her hair.
Long hair had been popular in the New World. Every morning, mothers, daughters and sisters would twist each other's hair into beautiful plaits, decorated with flowers and herbs. Aniya had been making an effort to grow her hair out since she was a child. Now, her raven-black hair had grown past her waist, falling just above her hips in waves. Rebekah braided it into plaits each morning when she noticed how uncomfortable it made her.
She still remembered the smile on Kol's face when he ran his fingers through her hair. He'd tried, once, to twist her hair into a simple braid. She could hear him cursing beneath his breath, and eventually cheating when he muttered a spell that embelished her hair with forget-me-nots and baby's breath.
If she closed her eyes, she could still see the adoration in his eyes when he called her beautiful. She held onto that when she'd died. Truthfully, it was the only thing she'd had to hold onto, spending a thousand years in darkness. The thought would leave a smile on her face no matter how many times she thought of it; but now, the memory made her throat tighten. Perhaps she were better off in that darkness.
    "Why do you hate me?"
The Original's glass clattered on the countertop. His eyes were trained on the decades-old bourbon.
'Hate her?' He glanced at the strange girl. She was curled into a ball, bandages trailing up and down her arms and legs. His sisters had given her a choker to wrap around her neck, concealing the slash on her throat and the wound at the base of her skull. She'd refused to let Rebekah heal it, muttering something about a boy named Vihaan. Part of him wanted to believe her story -- to understand what had happened to her, and to comfort her; but no matter how hard he tried to dig into his memories, he was met with an impenetrable mist, and he couldn't bring himself to fight against it.
Instead, he stayed behind it. Ran back to the memories he knew to be true, and placed a wall between the two of them. Whatever she was hiding, he didn't want to remember.
    "I don't hate you."
"You're lying." Aniya looked up at him, her brown eyes seeming to challenge him. "We haven't even spoken since the night you found me."
"Darling, I haven't spoken to much of anyone since the night I found you. Need I remind you Niklaus isn't exactly jumping for joy at the fact that I risked everyone's life in favor of..." He trailed off, then drowned his sorrows in whiskey once more.
"Davina Claire." Even when it was Aniya herself, the name still managed to cut through to her very soul. "I've noticed. Who is she, Kol?"
He winced, her words seeming to burn into his skin. "Someone. No one."
"You're lying again, and not very well," She sat up. "Was she human?"
"A witch," He kept his eyes trained on the windows, almost afraid of looking her in the eyes. "The Hollow was meant to bring her back."
'After I killed her,' Kol wanted to add. Was that what he'd done with Aniya? Killed her? Had he gone to kiss her and murdered her in his efforts to be a good partner to her? Locked away his memories, and gotten a witch to lock away the others?
"Why not bring her back yourself?" She said bitterly. "From what I remember, you were quite powerful."
Kol's chest grew heavier the longer he spoke. "Nature requires balance. Witches are a gift to nature, while vampires are an abomination. Any ability I had to practice magic disappeared the moment I died."
It came out harsher than he expected. He was a powerful witch. His mother's bloodline produced the strongest witches known in history - she'd created the spell that turned his siblings into vampires. Before he'd died, he'd even considered writing his own grimoire; write down all of the spells he created so he would be remembered by the generations to come. Perhaps if he'd kept it, he wojld have been able to save Davina. Taken her from the ancestral plane before she was punished any further. God only knew what consequences she was facing now.
"Do you miss it?" She spoke softly, staring down at her hands. She ran a finger over the scar on her left palm, murmuring, "You never went a day without magic. No matter how useless the spell was, you were always practicing. You were like a child with your favorite toy."
Finally, he set the glass down on the counter, taking a step closer to Aniya. "Did you?"
She chuckled, "I did. But the magic I had before is different from the magic I have now. Whatever spells you put in front of me, I likely wouldn't be able to complete them."
    "Why not?"
Aniya cleared her throat, her hand trailing up to the band around her neck. Kol's face was riddled with confusion as she shook her head, eyes beginning to scan the foyer before landing on a glass above the fire place. A wilted bouquet of red roses - likely a gift for Rebekah. Perhaps she could find a way to break his amnesia. To remember her, even for just a moment.
She quickly set it on down the table, eyes fluttering shut as she began to mutter the spell beneath her breath. It should've been easy. It was a spell she could have recited in her sleep. The spell had been taught to children when they were barely old enough to read - if there was any spell she could do, it had to be this.
"Sit cadunt folia," She whispered, hands floating above the petals.
The Mikaelson boy sat in silence, watching the witch with intrigue. It'd always been his favorite past-time to watch witches perform magic. Though, this time, it'd been different. The longer she chanted, the more distorted she would sound. It was as though he was hearing her from underwater. Even his vision had begun to go, his sharp vision suddenly becoming hazy.
Perhaps he'd had too much to drink.
Fortunately, she'd stopped, unable to even begin the spell. When she was a child, she could feel the adrenaline rush through her bones. The feeling would have leave goosebumps along her arms, leaving her hyperaware of her surroundings. She could hear the wind rustle through the trees, could feel the ground beneath her shake at the slightest movement.
Now, she felt nothing but embarrassment. She'd wanted the spell to work. Not just for Kol, but for herself. If she could continue practicing earth magic, she could turn away from the magic she'd been reborn with. The magic she had been sacrificed for.
"It's all right. You're weak right now. The last thing you 'ought be doing practicing is magic." He'd said it offhandedly, his focus still on returning his vision to normal.
"I wasn't sure you cared," she murmured, pulling her knees up to her chest.
Kol glanced up at her, his vision beginning to focus. As she ran her finger over her hands, he couldn't help but sigh. It felt as though there was a part of him yearning to be closer to her. To comfort her, and tell her that he did care for the little witch despite every bone in his body that told him to stay away from her.
"You should rest." He stood up, going to leave the room. "I'll have Rebekah make you some tea. It'll help with the insomnia."
The Mikaelson boy disappeared down the hall before Aniya could say another word. Before he could catch a glimpse of the faint smile ghosting across the young girl's lips.

Of Grief and Realm Jumping
This idea randomly popped in my head and I felt that I had to write it down! Don’t worry I am still working on writing the second part to Bennett’s Saviors! The whole premise of this is that I thought of instead of Wanda Maximoff staying with the Avengers after her brother Pietro is killed in Age of Ultron. Her abilities/magic go haywire and send her to a different realm where the Vampire Diaries and the Originals story is. You know... so that when the whole Captain America v. Iron man thing happens a young woman (who is in over her head) isn’t pulled into it! Anyway, without further ado, I hope you enjoy this! Let me know if you want another part or a snapshot of something that Wanda could come across while in Mystic Falls (and maybe New Orleans?).
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wanda Maximoff felt the moment her twin died, the moment her other half left the world. The heart wrenching scream that came out of her led to the red energy of her powers to destroy every single minion robot of Ultron; including Ultron himself. What Wanda didn’t notice in her all-consuming grief of losing her twin was that her magic came rushing back to her as fast and violent as it came out of her. Instead of hurting or killing her though, it teleported her and her brother out of the area; not just the area, but the realm.
It brought them both to a town called Mystic Falls in the state Virginia. Wanda’s magic easily slips back inside of her and leaves her sobbing over her twins body. Having no idea that she isn’t even in the correct realm, but rain is pouring out of the sky as a storm rips through that atmosphere and Wanda doesn’t care to know. She doesn’t care to know where she is or that the people she had just gotten to know would not be there with her.
Wanda doesn’t care because she just lost her twin and the sky is crying and screaming in grief and fury with her. She doesn’t care that she is in the middle of the road with her dead twin and she doesn’t care when a certain sheriffs car screeches to a stop right in front of her. With the headlights spotlighting her and her grief.
Wanda barely pays attention to the fact that the female sheriff is on the radio calling for backup and an ambulance. She doesn’t pay attention to the out of place british accents from a certain original family questioning why there are police and an ambulance vehicle(s) outside of their home. She only comes to when there are people in uniform trying to rip her brother from her.
Wanda’s mind goes straight to HYDRA and her fight or flight instinct come up hard and fast. Although, she isn’t thinking straight so it doesn’t even occur to her to use her abilities. All it seems that she is able to do is kick an scream and clutch to her brothers body as tightly as she can.
Wanda can vaguely hear a males voice say, “Bloody hell...” and then that same voice “Back the hell off Nik, can’t you see the girl needs help? Not people surrounding her and her loved one. Give her some space!” Wanda hears what sounds like a bit of a scuffle, “Bloody idiots, the girl is obviously grieving! Leave her be.”
She tunes out after that and continues to cradle Pietro and brush his hair as she quietly sings in her mother tongue. Wanda doesn’t even realize that she is slowly rocking herself and Pietro’s body back and forth. She hazily takes notice of her surroundings when she hears, “Come on darling, your in shock. I promise you that they’ll take good care of your brother. You just have to let him go.” Kol carefully puts his arms around her body.
Wanda hazily realizes that yes, she is in shock. She also realizes that any strength or fight that she had has completely left her being like her twin has left her. That thought causes a fresh wave a tears to run down her face.
So, Wanda allows for the mysterious british man to pick her up and carry her towards what looks to be a mansion. Wanda can vaguely hear people protesting the man carrying her away from the scene. They are quickly stopped by people that she is guessing are the mans family members. She allows her eyes to close as she feels the shock overtake her body and shivers of the icy cold rain hitting to her very core.
Wanda can feel the exhaustion of using so much of her energy in the battle and her grief over losing her brother finally pull at her. Wanda’s awareness becomes less and less. Although she is aware of being wrapped up in a towel, the movement stopping, and the warmth of the man holding her along with the heat of a roaring fire wrapping her up. She allows for her body to shut down and sleep, as her mind slowly goes dark, all she hears is the crackling fire, the mans breath, and his steady heartbeat.
Kol looks up from the young woman after taking notice of her state of rest. He raises a brow upon seeing his siblings standing in front of him with Liz Forbes right behind them. Right as Kol goes to open his mouth to tell Sheriff Forbes off. She stops him by raising her hand and slipping between two of his siblings to the front.
“I’m not here to arrest the poor girl, in fact I’m planning on letting her rest. She looks like she could desperately need it... It looks like she’s been through hell and back. I just wanted to ask that once she is awake and ready that you call me so that I can ask her some questions about everything.” With that Liz Forbes, sheriff, mother, an all around caring person. Turns and leaves; her words seem to hang in the air between all of the silent siblings.
Kol allows his eyes to fall back to the red haired young woman and takes notice that she is no longer shivering from the cold. So, he cradles her as he stands; getting her to a comfortable bed is the only thing on his mind. “Kol, where are you taking her?” Kol stops in his movements and rolls his eyes as he turns to face Finn.
“Dear brother, if you think I’m going to harm her... I’m not. I figured that she would be more comfortable in a bed. So, I’m taking her to my room to rest.” Elijah raises a brow and puts one hand in his pocket. “I didn’t realize that we didn’t have enough guest rooms to put her in one...?”
Kol scoffs on his brother and can feel his control slip as his vampiric face comes forward for a split second as his annoyance gives way to anger. It causes his siblings to tense up. “She’s staying in my room where I can make sure that she rests. I’m not going to do anything harmful to her. I thought all of you knew me better than that.” Kol shakes his head and then turns away, hoping that his siblings didn’t see the hurt in his eyes at them constantly thinking the worst of him. He makes sure that he is gone before any of them can say anything.
Kol’s siblings all have varying frowns of worry and disappointment in themselves on their faces. Elijah eventually lets out a deep sigh and disappears, leaving Rebekah, Klaus, and Finn to their own devises. Klaus speeds off to his art room, Finn leaves for the library, and Rebekah heads for Kol’s room; knowing that the young woman would feel better knowing that it was another woman that changed her clothing.
Rebekah quietly knocks on Kol’s door and then walks in without waiting for an answer. “Okay brother, out. I’m going to change her clothes so that she can at least know that she still has her modesty.” Kol doesn’t even bother to argue her words, in fact he looks relieved that she was taking this part over for him. He quickly kisses Rebekah’s cheek and then he is gone. Rebekah quietly snickers to herself at his reaction.
She takes notice that Kol at picked out his own clothing for the young woman to wear (sweatpants and a random long-sleeved dress shirt). Rebekah allows herself an eye roll even as a soft smile graces her lips at her brothers willingness to care for the random young woman. Rebekah moves as quickly and as respectfully as she can to change her clothing. When she’s done, Rebekah gently tucks the young woman into Kol’s bed and quietly closes the door behind her as she leaves.
As Rebekah heads to her room Kol is walking by and she gives him a nod to let him know that he’s good to enter his room again. When he enters, the almost full moon along with the light coming through the cracked doorway to the bathroom are the only things lighting the room.
Kol pushes out a breath while shoving a hand through his hair. Now that the young woman is resting safely... he feels aimless; he doesn’t know what to do himself. As he studies the young woman, his lips twitch as he takes notice of the fact that Bekah had covered the pillow with a towel (seeing as how the young woman’s hair is still sopping wet). Which reminds him of the fact that he desperately needs to shower, seeing as how he is still wet from the downpour that came out of nowhere.
As he comes out of the bathroom freshly showered he shakes out his hair and sneaks a glance at the young woman; making sure he didn’t wake her. He takes notice that she’s in a different position, curled around herself with her head buried in the covers. He can only see her red hair and part of her body, the rest is swallowed by the covers.
Kol shakes his head and decides to start a fire in the fireplace that seems to be in every single bedroom. Once he is satisfied with the warmth coming from the fireplace, Kol allows himself to sit down on one of the sofas. He knows that he is going to have to settle in for a long night.
-----------
When it finally comes around to 5 AM Kol is pacing as quietly as he can with his eyes firmly on the red haired woman. She’s still sleeping peacefully and she is still curled in on herself, but her face is now showing. Kol can’t stop himself from getting agitated, he just wants her to wake up so that him and his family can get the story behind her appearing in the middle of the road with a dead body (of which he assumes is her brother).
His agitation also brings up his blood lust which helps nothing. Kol lets out a quiet snarl and practically rips his hand through his hair, then he’s gone from the room. Before he knows it, he’s in their kitchen ripping through four blood bags. “Brother, what’s causing you to act like a newly turned vampire?”
Kol glances to Finn as he tosses the used blood bags into the garbage as he gives him a sarcastic smile. “Whatever do you mean Finn? There is nothing causing me to act like a newly turned vampire... as you put it.” Finn just stares at Kol and Kol stares back. He hates when Finn gives him this look; it’s the same look Finn gives all of his siblings. It’s this look that has - without fail - made each and every one of his siblings spill whatever it is that is bothering them; it surprisingly works on Nik too.
“Well, brother... if you must know, I’m just a tad irritated with the waiting came for the young woman in my room to finally awaken. So that we can all figure out what the bloody hell she is doing here. With her clutching a dead body to her no less. And why it is that a violent storm ripped through the sky... Causing people’s possessions to be thrashed.”
Finn just quietly listens as he slowly nods, agreeing with what Kol is saying. Although, he continues to study him. “There is something else... isn’t there brother?” His words cause Kol to make eye contact with Finn once again and Kol curses when he notices the realization in Finn’s eyes. “The smell of her is testing you... Isn’t it? There is no shame in struggling with control brother. It is rare that we have ever completely lost control of ourselves. It is even more rare that we ever come across people that just the smell of them cause a struggle in control.”
Kol can’t stop the scoff from escaping him; out of all of the siblings, Kol struggled the most. Not just because his magic was ripped from him in the transition, but because he didn’t want to put the work into truly exercising restraint and learning control. “Finn is right Kol, it happens to all of us.” Kol looks to Elijah when his voice pulls him out of his thoughts. He studies his expression for a few moments before he nods; only when he sees that Elijah is not lying.
A hand landing on his shoulder causes him to look to Nik. “When there are people like that... that test our restraint it also causes us to become extremely possessive over them. Which would explain why you weren’t happy about the idea of putting the young woman in one of the guest rooms.”
Understanding and realization dawns on Kol’s face... but confusion quickly takes over. “Then how the bloody hell are you two,” Kol waves his hand between Nik and Elijah. “sharing the little witch?” Kol makes equal space between himself and his three brothers as mischievousness lights his eyes. “While we are on the subject, why is it that Bonnie Bennett is even okay with the sharing? At least the witch isn’t like those doppelgänger bitches.” A scoff escapes him, “Ruining bonds between brothers the moment they spread their legs for one of them.”
Klaus lets out a huffed laugh, while Finn rolls his eyes and leaves the room, and Elijah lets out a long suffering sigh and adjusts one of his cuff links. “And he is back to being the Kol we all know and love.” Kol just laughs, “Oh, come now Elijah, I really am quite curious. If what Nik says is right, how is it that you two haven’t been at each others throats?”
Klaus’s lips twitch, “Okay brother, I’ll humor you - not that I believe you’ll end up having to share the young woman with anyone. When a vampire or werewolf comes across a person that smells in the way that the woman does to you and Bonnie does to us. They can be seen as - for lack of a better word for it or explanation - the other half meant for you. Obviously it would be a different feeling and reaction for wolves than it is for vampires. Since, it brings up the blood lust. Before you ask, yes it gets easier to deal with. It will eventually get to the point where you don’t have the blood lust effecting you from her smell.” Kol allows the information to sink in as he stares off into space.
Klaus and Elijah exchange looks, the can’t remember in their long lives a moment when Kol has ever looked as serious as he is right in this moment. “We’ll leave you to think brother.” Elijah quietly says, getting a mindless nod from Kol. Both Elijah and Klaus are gone by the time Kol stops his nod. Kol doesn’t know how long he’s been standing in the kitchen, completely still, and lost in his own mind thinking through the information given. It’s 8:30 AM when Kol finally comes back to himself and glances at the time. He decides to make his way to his room to see if the young woman is awake.
When Kol gets to his room door he pauses and listens for the young woman’s breath, heartbeat, and hopefully movement. He takes notice first of her elevated heartrate and hear faster breathing pattern. He can hear her slowly trying to shift off of the bed. He knocks on the door softly to announce his presence, he hears her suck in a breath and go still. The her hesitant, almost silent voice, “He- hello?” He takes her response as an invitation to open the door and walk in.
Kol quietly closes the door behind him, but makes sure that she notices that it stays unlocked. They both take a moment to study each other; Kol can’t help but notice how heartbreakingly beautiful she looks, with her red hair tumbling down her shoulders, his clothing practically swallowing her, her eyes slightly red from her crying, and very faint tear tracks on her face.
Wanda is to busy being wary of him, confused as to where she is, and wanting to know where her twin is to really look at the man standing in front of her. Her eyes flicker around the room, looking to the door he entered from, then to the windows, to him, then looking around the room again. As she shifts a bit she feels different material - softer material than what she is used to - brush against her skin. She takes notice that they seem to completely swallow her she allows the sleeve of the shirt to cover her hand as she raises it to her face. As she carefully brushes wisps of hair away from her face she catches the scent that clings to the material and a shiver goes up her spine.
Wanda’s eyes flicker back to the man standing in front of her as he watches her curiously. Kol can’t stop the pride that he feels rush through him at her response to his scent. He could tell that she thought she hid her reaction, but he noticed. He can also tell that she is uncomfortable with the silence and even though he could spend the rest of the time just watching her... he decides to put her out of her discomfort. “My name is Kol Mikaelson, I can promise you that no one here will harm you. I can also explain to you what I know about you being here. You most likely know more about it than me. Care to tell me your name darling?”
Kol’s lips twitch at her body jolting towards him in reaction to his voice (he just barely hides his joy at her reaction). He watches as she hesitantly goes to say something and pauses. Then she tries again, “I’m Wanda.... Maximoff.” He watches as her eyes fall from his to her lap as she fidgets with the sleeves of the shirt. “I don’t really know what I’m doing here... or where here is. You probably won’t even believe me if I tell you...”
Kol can’t stop the twinge of worry that touches him as he watches and listens to her. But he doesn’t move toward her in worry of scaring h- Wanda. When her hair falls to curtain her face, Kol watches as her body harshly jerks. Causing him to take a step forward. “What... what happened to my hair? I-- it wasn’t this color before...? I...”
Kol furrows his brows as her breathing picks up and her movement become broken and jerky. His eyes widen as he realizes that Wanda is having a panic attack. He assumes that everything that must have happened to her is coming to a head and causing this. He doesn’t know if doing what he is about to do will help or if it will make it worse, but he wants to try. He move toward Wanda and quickly pulls her into his lap and cradles her. “Calm down darling, you’re okay.” Kol unconsciously runs one of his hands softly through her hair and tightens his hold. “Breathe lass, we’ll figure it all out, just breathe.”
Wanda’s response to to grab his one arm that is wrapped around her and curl into him. Eventually her breathing evens out a bit, but neither move away from each other. A small smile makes its way onto Kol’s face when he feels Wanda (his Wanda) actually clutch onto him tighter; while burrowing closer to him.
Wanda knows that she shouldn’t be trusting the man - Kol - so easily, but right now she needs someone to help ground her. To help comfort her and seeing as how her twin brother won’t be here to do it anymo-. Wanda finds herself choking on a sob as tears rush to her eyes and her hands clench so hard on Kol’s arm that her knuckles go white. with the pressure.
Kol takes notice of her violent and fast change in state of being and frowns, but before he can ask what’s wrong... Wanda’s cracking voice fills the room before he can open his mouth. “He’s gone... my twin brother - Pietro - is gone. He’s gone and I couldn’t stop it! I wasn’t there for him when he needed me, I wa--”
Kol cuddles her closer and softly shushes Wanda as he carefully moves them both to a more comfortable position. When Wanda finally quiets into a restless sleep, Kol pushes out a breath, shaken with how much her pain affected him and presses his eyes tightly closed. Trying to ignore the answering tears that wanted to come out at his other half's tears. The silence that filled the room once everything fully quieted... was full of the dead, the left unsaid, and the questions left unanswered.

I hope you guys liked it! I tried to keep as close to what I perceive/observe of the characters; their emotions, thoughts, dynamics with others, etc. I hope I did them justice! Let me know what you think and if you’d want a second part or a one-shot of something specific with Wanda’s time with the Mikaelson family. Constructive criticism is always welcome! Have a wonderful morning/day/evening/night!

Worth It- Pt 3
The Prelude - Part 1- Part 2
Summary: The reader and Marcel make up just to get into another argument.
Characters: Marcel x black!reader, Sean (OMC) x black!reader
Warnings: SMUTTTTTT!
A/N: Thanks to everyone for reading! I’m really enjoying for writing for this series.
Tumblr media
(I’m in love with this gif! That is a man!)
An overwhelming heat caused you to wake up from your deep slumber. Turning over to see the source, you saw Marcel with his arm wrapped around your waist and him staring down at you.
“Creep.” You playfully called him before turning back over.
Marcel pinched your ass and instinctively your arm went flaying to hit him back. “Ouch! Asshole!” All he did was laugh at your pain. Rolling you over with him on top, he settled his head in between your neck and shoulder. You could feel the ghost of his smile on your neck.
Pushing at his shoulders, you told him, “Get off of me. I’m still mad at you.” Your tone suggested that you didn’t mean it and it was true.
After, you finally calmed down a bit you understood Marcel’s anger, but you also knew you had to get him to understand your side as well.
Lifting his head, he looked at you with remorseful eyes. “I’m sorry. I should’ve listened to you. I just don’t wanna lose you. You’re my everything, do you understand that, Y/N?” He was on the verge of tears.
Bringing his face closer to yours, you whispered, “Yes, baby. But I need you to understand I don’t like being treated as a child and that you should trust me.”
Marcel shook his head yes, knowing everything you said was true. A couple of minutes passed without either one of you saying a word. He quirked an eyebrow, “Where’s my apology,” he asked with a smile.
Giggling in his ear, “You ain’t getting one.” Then you licked the shell of his ear.
“A’ight, I guess I have to force it out of you.” Marcel kissed the tip of your nose before disappearing under the covers.
Lucky you that you didn’t sleep with any panties on and that granted Marcel easy access. Even though you knew it was coming, the feeling of his tongue on your clit sent shivers down your spine.
“Shit’s already wet. Do I do this to you, baby?” His voice muffled by the cover. He slapped your clit just to hear how wet you are.
Forgetting that he couldn’t see you, you shook your head yes. Another harder slap came down and you yelped. “I can’t hear you.” Marcel claimed.
“Yes, baby. I’m always this wet for you,” you moaned out.
You could practically hear him smiling. “I bet Sean can’t do this to you.”
Lifting the covers, you smiled at him and said, “Only you, baby.”
Marcel softly bit the inside of your thigh before delving right back into your heat. His slow, languid licks contradicted his fast fingers thrusting inside of you.
It was a miracle that you heard the phone over the sounds of your loud moans. Your plan was to ignore it, whoever it was could wait, but Marcel’s evil ass made you answer it.
“Hello?” You answered sounding somewhat normal.
“Did I catch you at a bad time, cher?” Sean’s Cajun accent came out loud and clear.
Marcel’s head popped up from his meal and he immediately snatched the phone out of your hand. “Actually, Sean you caught her at a perfect time.”
Shocked that he was in a good mood to talk to Sean, you mouthed to your boyfriend, “What are you doing?”
Instead of just answering you, unexpectedly Marcel sheathed himself inside of you and you almost came right at that moment. “Ohhh fuck me,” you moaned inside his ear.
All thoughts about Sean on the phone disappeared as Marcel had you having orgasm after orgasm. Eventually, Marcel’s hand found its way around your throat. “You’re mines, do you understand that? No one else’s.”
“I’m yours,” you proclaimed to him and subconsciously to Sean.
Your proclamation caused Marcel to hit his climax and he filled you up. Grabbing the forgotten phone by your head, he spoke into. “Don’t call her again. Goodbye.”
Laughing at how he reminded you of Klaus, you smacked his shoulder. “Wow, Klaus really did raise you.”
Marcel tugged a stand of your hair. “Why are you bringing up another man’s name after I so thoroughly satisfied you?”
“Who says I’m satisfied?” Marcel gave you a smug look before he went to spread your legs. “No, no, no I was just joking. Stop, I can’t take anymore, or I’ll really be jell-o.” Thanks to Marcel being a vamp, he practically had no refractory period, which could be a blessing and a curse.
Wrapping you up in his arms, both of you laid there in comfortable silence drifting off to sleep before round 2 until the most terrifying sound jolted you out of bed.
“Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N, get your little nasty black ass down here right now!” Hearing your mom’s voice gave you renewed energy, causing you to get dressed the fastest you ever have.
Running down the stairs with Marcel hot on your trail, you saw your mom arguing with Klaus with your dad and Sean standing off to side staring down the other Mikaelson siblings.
Sean must’ve told your parents what happened or worse they heard you on the phone having the best sex of your life, either way it was embarrassing.
When your mom’s eyes finally settled on you, you wanted to go hide in the corner. It was the look she gave you and Bianca before she went and got her belt.
“Hey momma, what are you doing here?” You asked like you had no idea. For a moment she didn’t say anything until she saw the bruise on your neck from where Marcel fed from.
“So, not only do you like for people to hear you having sex, but you also like to be a blood bag ho?”
“Seems like it,” you heard Rebekah mutter. Turning to Marcel you told him with a look he better get her before you do.
He pulled her to the side while you heard Klaus talking to your mom. “Watch it, witch.”
Your fearlessness was a trait you got from your momma and she proved it by slapping Klaus and that’s when all hell broke loose.
Rebekah must’ve been keeping her eye out on the whole situation, because as soon as your mom’s hand made contact with Klaus, Rebekah had her hand around your mom’s throat with her fangs out.
Despite your mom calling you a hoe just a few minutes ago, she was still your momma and you weren’t gonna let anyone disrespect her. So, when Rebekah put her hands on your mom, you automatically used your powers to make her choke on her own blood to the point where it looked like she was going to die a second death.
What you didn’t expect was Marcel tackle you to stop your assault. Klaus or Elijah, yes but your boyfriend, no. “Y/N, quit it!” Marcel ordered you, while checking on Rebekah.
“Really, nigga? You’re protecting her?” The relationship between you and Rebekah wasn’t a good one. Since, the moment she met you, she hated you. But you still tried to be nice and respectful to her, because one, she was Marcel’s ex and you didn’t like being petty, and two, Marcel grew up with her, she was family either way.
“You didn’t have to go that far.” He countered.
Those 7 words lit a fuse and you blew up. “I DIDN’T HAVE TO GO THAT FAR?! Man fuck you! You’re gonna tell me to my face that the little white devil didn’t go to far when she had her hand around my momma’s throat? And to think her own brothers haven’t come to her defense but you’re being Captain Save-A-Hoe!”
“Marcellus, tell your wretched little witch to watch her tongue or I’ll rip it out.”
Just because you’re a witch and Rebekah is an Original, doesn’t mean she still can’t get her ass whopped. In fact, you easily killed a couple of vampires on your own. So, Rebekah was about to get some work, but you felt an unfamiliar arm around your waist. “Not now, sweetheart.” Sean whispered into your ear.
Seeing Sean so close to you made Rebekah an afterthought to Marcel. “I suggest you get your hand off of her before you lose it.”
“Oh now, you wanna pay attention to her? Nah, nigga stick with your Becky over there. We good over here.”
Marcel ignored Sean and looked to you. “Y/N, get over here.” His voice stern, telling you that there would be consequences if you didn’t listen.
Anger and hurt influenced your response. “Nah, we’re good over here.” You led your parents and Sean out of the Mikaelson home with Marcel shocked and heartbroken.

I’m so curious about TVD Elena Tulane and HP The Rules of Time! ❤️
TVD Elena Tulane:
Vampire!Elena goes to Tulane for college. (I guess she wasn’t aware that that’s where Klaus disappeared to?) Klaus finds out about it, randomly, because he sees her with a group of other freshmen in the French Quarter at some point, and while at first he wants nothing to do with her, he slowly loses his mind obsessing over her presence in the city. Meanwhile, Elena is just trying to have a normal college experience, but Klaus keeps interrupting that. (This was brainstormed/ begun when Originals season 1 was maybe 2 or 3 episodes in, so I’m working on the math that Klaus still hates Elena for staking Kol and has at best settled for cold indifference and bitter disappointment in how the hybrid thing turned out.)
Excerpt:
She’s not the sort of girl to surprise him, so he doesn’t know how it is she’s done it.
And yet, two years later, here’s Elena in New Orleans, a Tulane student with a false smile that still lures men to their deaths. He watches her from across Dauphine Street, does the math. It’s late November-- she’s been here since August and he’s never noticed. Time was, a Petrova could never evade detection that long. Time was, he would have torn the world apart to find her.
But it’s not that time anymore.
Oh, and because I cannot resist, here’s a 2nd snippet:
Thoughts of her come up unexpectedly.
He’ll be biting into some hapless tourist’s neck, and he’ll think, this is just the angle as with her, or, this is almost how she tasted.
He’ll watch Rebekah set Marcel’s nightwalkers aflame, and he’ll remember-- that was how Kol looked as he died-- that was the fate I’d had planned for Elena.
Once, he watched a compelled teenager slit her own throat-- a scare tactic, to keep the New Orleanian aristocracy in line-- and he remembers, potently, that Elena had once done the same to save him.
The Rules of Time
Back in 2015 I finally finished Harry Potter and also fell off the edge of oblivion into Tomione, which fell on my head like an anvil (and the idea of that ship then bloomed like Athena bursting from my skull, it was just like that).
So, obviously, I wrote 16,000 words of Tomione fanfiction that I’m pretty much mortified over but was too honest to exclude from this list. It’s a combination of two of my favorite tropes-- time turner accident and Hermione falling prey to really bad horcrux influences.
Here was the summary:
An accident occurs when Hermione and Harry save Sirius at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban. Thrown back in time to 1942, Hermione does her best not to draw attention to herself. But she has always had a weakness for beautiful men-- and Tom Riddle is the most beautiful of them all-- and all bets are off when, for the second time in Hermione’s life, the Chamber of Secrets is opened...
My idea was that rather than going with the usual older teenager Hermione who could handle herself, what if Hermione were still very young when thrown into this dangerous situation? (and a few years younger than Tom Riddle) If she had less experience and less knowledge on her side going in? How would she cope? Would she be seduced or swayed more easily? Would Tom get his claws into her? And how would she eventually pry them out?

Chapter Summary: Mikael has Maleny and is hell-bent on making Klaus finally pay for everything done in the past. Still, despite her situation, Maleny finally comes to terms with her feelings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Klaus angrily paced back and forth outside Davina's cabin as he left a voicemail to Elijah, "Elijah, where are you? Mikael is loose with the stake, and Maleny is a hostage, and I am weaponless and in need of reinforcement. Urgently!"
He hung up and returned to the cabin where Kol was calmly rocking back and forth in a rocking chair, Davina still unconscious, "Wake her up," Klaus ordered him, "Tell her to get Mikael back here, now."
"Well, let me- let me think about that," Kol tilted his head in pretend thought, "No! I've got nothing against Maleny, honestly - she was my little mischievous companion after all."
"Okay, now is our time, Maleny," Kol declared to the older blonde beside him.
The two were standing side by side a short distance from a table full of various snacks the villagers had put out for their evening celebration. No one was supposed to have any until the celebration properly started.
Just as Kol started for the table, Maleny anxiously grabbed his arm, pulling him back, "You know we're not supposed to touch anything," she reminded him, "There are rules-"
"Oh c'mon, Maleny," Kol turned to her, pleading with her, "We went over this - remember the plan?"
"Ummm..." Maleny looked to the side, feeling guilty for having even thought about going with his plan.
"Mal?" Kol asked again, giving her a pout, "I said we would share and you know I don't disappoint my adoptive sister, so..."
At that Maleny, arched an eyebrow, "You make Rebekah suffer some times."
"Yeah, but half the time she deserves it," Kol shrugged then smiled at her, "But you're not like her. You're nicer, you're definitely a lot more fun than she is. You're like the sister I always wanted."
"Oh, don't be rude," Maleny playfully hit his arm, "And fine...but I want some berries," she pointed to the bowl of her favorite fruit.
"Got it," Kol beamed, sloppily kissing her cheek before heading out to do their plan.
Maleny chuckled to herself, heading to do her task of distraction in the meantime. She was to distract the one preparing the tables, Miss Heartfield - a terrible, strict old woman. If Maleny was honest, she was terrified by the woman but Kol promised her it wouldn't take more than two minutes max for him to snatch up what they wanted.
Kol kept to his word - in two minutes flat he was motioning to Maleny it was time to go. Giggling like a child would, the blonde scurried after him.
"I told you it would be easy," Kol said as they sat down on the ground, their backs against a home wall, both of them munching on their respective snacks.
"I am never doing that again," Maleny warned him as she dropped a couple of berries into her mouth, but both knew that was false.
She had said the same thing mere days ago.
Kol smiled to himself after reliving his memory. He then looked back at Klaus who remained furious than ever by the entrance of the cabin, "Self preservation, you see," he continued his excuse, "I stay in here, Mikael can't get to me. Well, go on then."
Klaus actually felt like killing Kol on the spot for his dismissal at the problem. But he saw there was no use in wasting time with Kol, "We're not done here!" he warned and then sped out to find Maleny.

Somewhere deep in the woods by the bayou, Mikael dragged along Maleny in a tight hold.
"You know, I remember you being awful and unnecessarily cruel but this is beyond ridiculous!" the blonde angrily shouted, almost able to hide her fear that coursed through her blood.
"And I seem to remember you weren't a big mouth back then," Mikael replied in a snarky tone, "I assume Niklaus taught you that."
"Who, by the way, is already looking for you," Maleny glared at him, "And we all know what happens when Klaus Mikaelson loses his temper."
Mikael sneered as he came to a stop, "Oh, you are an amusing girl - always have been. But let me tell you, amuseming and entertaining will have you killed eventually," he pointed Papa Tunde's blade at her, "And because you are oh-so-close to Niklaus, your end will be even sooner."
Maleny raised an eyebrow, "And you believe somehow this will make me go against him? If you believed you could do that you wouldn't have taken me as leverage. Because that's why you took me, isn't it?"
Though Mikael was irritated the plan was so easily visible, he stated, "Once I threaten to dismember you in front of him, Klaus will hesitate. And, in that moment of weakness, I shall end him."
"This is so wrong!" Maleny erupted into angry shouts, shaking off Mikael's arm in the process. He knew she couldn't out run him anyways so he let her be, "You have never seen Klaus as your son and when there was finally real proof that he actually wasn't, you went hysterical. You've literally been obsessing over the death of someone whose fatal flaw is that he was fathered by another guy! If there's anyone you should be going after it's Esther - she's the one who betrayed you."
"Hush! You are the enabler of the weak!" Mikael pointed, "No wonder he always sought your company."
"Cos I understood him, clearly," Maleny argued, but her mind wronged her by reminding her of a period where that wasn't true.
Maleny was quietly tending to pile of cloths inside her home when she happened to look up and see Klaus passing by. Immediately, she dropped her things and called for him, "Klaus!" she ran for her open door.
"Stay there!" the newly made vampire (or hybrid) ordered her just as she came to the door.
Startled, Maleny froze in her spot, "I...I know what happened out there," she nodded for the forest, "Rebekah, she...told me."
"Then you know what I have become," Klaus opened his arms and walked towards her, unable to really look her in the eyes, "A beast..."
Maleny's eyes lowered in clear sympathy for him, "I'm sorry...I..."
She'd heard from Esther about the savagery state Klaus had entered early at dawn, unable to control himself (as well as the others) after trying to decently feed off people in the forest. They would have died if they hadn't been stopped by Mikael and Finn. She'd wanted to go find him immediately but Esther had stopped her, warning Maleny of the danger she would be placing herself in.
"You are going to stay in there, Maleny," Klaus pointed towards Maleny's home, making the blonde take a quick glance back, "and you are not going to look for me-"
Maleny blinked in confusion, "What? But I-" and when she tried taking a step out of her house Klaus shouted.
"Stay in there!"
The blonde flinched under the harsh tone. Her blue eyes had widened, not in horror but of pain. She was quite used to her father using the same tone to talk to her, but never from Klaus.
"Maleny, I am...something bad," Klaus said, putting in simpler terms, "I have to feed off people to survive and it is a difficult struggle to have control."
"That's not your fault," Maleny whispered, her hand reaching out to his only to have him step back, "Klaus, why are you doing this?" her eyes began rapidly blinking as they watered, "I know what you are. I am not afraid."
"But I am," Klaus confessed under a shaky tone, "You do not understand Maleny. I can hear your heart pumping blood, blood I now crave, blood that warms your pink cheeks. And the last thing I want is for you to become my next prey."
Maleny's tears had begun running down her face, "I know you won't hurt me…"
"Give me time, Maleny. Pain is the last thing I want to cause you."
"Then stop this madness right now," Maleny weakly ordered, stepping out of her home's boundary. She purposely inched closer to him, running her fingers up his arm, "Let me be there for you. I can...I can help you..." she offered, though no specific ideas came to mind at the moment.
Klaus nearly fell under her charms as she brushed her lips against his. But her delicious, human scent became more prominent in the air, and her heartbeat rang in his ears. He pushed her away, making her stumble back into her home, " Stay away from me, Maleny," he whispered, doing a surprisingly good job of hiding his tears, "Stay indoors, where I cannot reach you - nor my siblings," with his final warning he turned away and walked off.
Maleny shut her eyes as she remembered the awful period she'd spent lonesomely whilst Klaus kept away from her. She didn't realize Mikael had taken an interest in distant music that had carried over through their silence.
"I hear music," he declared, glancing back at her, "And, where there's music, there's food."
"Oh," Maleny crinkled her nose, "leave them alone."
"Would you rather it be you I feed off, then?" Mikael challenged, coming back to her.
"Frankly, yes," Maleny nodded, making him laugh.
"How heroic of you," he snagged Maleny by the arm, dragging her towards his next meal's location, "Where'd you learn that one? Because it certainly wasn't from that hybrid."
"This may come as a shocker to you, Mikael, but I do have qualities that are all mine," Maleny rolled her eyes.
But Mikael sneered in return, dismissing her statement, "Oh please, ever since I could remember you were after my family like a lost-"
"I had lost my mother, you ignorant fool!" Maleny snapped, and soon saw the error she made when Mikael abruptly stopped and faced her with rage. Knowing he would break her if he overdid it, he settled for a hard strike across the face. Maleny fell to the ground, drowning her painful screeches as best she could. She looked up, mustering up her courage, "My life was hell after my mother died. My father was cruel and did nothing but hit me and treat me like a servant. I wasn't 'after your family' - I loved them like they were my own."
"Oh how truly sappy," Mikael rolled his eyes and turned away from her, trying to once again locate the distant music.
"Don't be snappish because you weren't able to learn what love was," Maleny said, earning herself a threatening glare back.
"And you think you know what that is?" he challenged, quickly getting the answer.
"Yes, I do-"
"Oh, really?"
"-I know what it is," Maleny spoke over him, "I do. I felt it before I even knew what it was."
Mikael stalked back to her, leaning down as she was still on the ground, "You think what you felt for Niklaus was..." he sardonically laughed, "...love?"
Maleny looked to the side, "Yes...there was no other word for it. Finn, Elijah, and Kol, I loved them to bits and pieces but...as brothers. They were my brothers. But Klaus, I..." she sighed, "...he made the simplest of things such puzzles..."
"Maleny," Rebekah came up to the blonde girl that was just coming out from the forest with a basket of damp clothes on her side, "Oh, thank God I found you. I need your help!"
Maleny didn't even get a word in before Rebekah dragged her by the arm towards a wooden table full of materials needed for basket making, "Let me guess," Maleny began when Rebekah cut her off frantically.
"I completely forgot I had to do this and now my mother is going to come back and shout at me or worse - she's going to-"
"Rebekah," Maleny rose her voice, completely amused by her. Rebekah blinked rapidly, trying to calm, while Maleny put down her basket on the edge of the table, "I can help you. I just finished washing clothes so I have time."
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!" Rebekah beamed and got straight to work with the blonde beside her.
"Now dear Maleny," they heard Elijah's voice, "don't tell me you're honestly falling for our sister's clever lies."
Maleny looked up, as did Rebekah, and saw Elijah and Klaus coming towards them. Immediately her hands fumbled with the bits she held between her fingers.
"I am not lying," Rebekah huffed, indignant of her brother's accusation.
"Just last week you asked poor Maleny to help you in..." Klaus stopped a moment to remember the task but frowned and looked at Maleny, "...what was it again, Mal?"
"U-uh...fruit collecting," Maleny answered almost instantaneously.
"Right, and then two days ago she asked you to...?"
"Help her wash clothes."
Rebekah looked between her brother and Maleny, at first annoyed Maleny was just giving into the accusations but then she saw Maleny's face and, well...she sighed in defeat. Anything Klaus wanted to know from her she would automatically spill. However, she failed to see Klaus' face whenever Maleny spoke.
Elijah did not. He was outright bemused by the sudden silence that fell between the four. Maleny had returned to her basket making, though her fingers seemed to have lost their talent like if she had never even learned. Meanwhile, Klaus took to staring at her like she was doing the most interesting craft in the world.
But Maleny's yelp cut through the awkward air. She had accidentally poked herself and drew blood from her index finger. "Maybe I won't help," she said afterwards, wincing as she touched her finger, "Ow..."
"Here," Klaus gently took her hand into his, startling Maleny. She blushed madly, rapidly blinking. She felt her heart beating so violently she actually thought for a minute it would simply burst. It was an annoyance sometimes, honestly, to constantly be nervous around someone to the point where it became true fear they might muck it up some way. But she never wished for it to stop.
Maleny smiled to herself, forgetting the monstrous man she had inches from her, "Even to making a bloody basket was difficult for me..." she actually forgot the feelings Klaus provoked - and probably without even knowing it.
Mikael had heard enough and yanked the woman to her feet, gripping both her wrists, "You were doomed from the start, then," he declared and dragged her for the nearby human camp settlement, ignoring her struggles.

"Hayley!" Cami came frantically through the courtyard of the compound, "Hayley!"
"What!?" Hayley came out from one of the rooms upstairs, "I know you're kinda new at this but you realize I have super hearing, right?"
Cami ignored the sarcasm with a shake of her head, "Has Elijah came back yet!?"
The name of the Original put Hayley on edge, "...no."
Cami deeply sighed and ran a hand through her hair, "He's gonna MIA and that's not like him. I told you, he should've came in last night."
Hayley shifted on her feet as she admitted, "I couldn't quite track Oliver either."
That sent Cami a whole new wave of worriment, "If they're both missing then something happened, something Esther did I'm sure."
"We've got to find them," Hayley muttered and hurriedly went for the stairs.
"Please," Cami nearly sounded like she was begging, but she simply couldn't help it.
Even Gia had told her to calm down and just let Elijah call her when he called her. She made Cami rethink all of this 'distancing' idea with how worried she was over the Original. It certainly didn't seem like Cami wanted to stay away.

Mikael dragged Maleny into a run-down warehouse and once they were at the center of the prime room he shoved her to the dirty floor.
"You're a monster!" Maleny pushed her hair out of her face and glared up at the man, "But then that's nothing new. You've always been a monster, a cruel man, and always towards Klaus."
"I didn't always hate him," Mikael interjected, "When Klaus was born, I was overjoyed. I thought, 'This one- this one has the eyes of a warrior. He will be worthy.' But, my hope was short-lived. And, when I found out that he wasn't really my son, my relief was glorious. But, that passed with the knowledge that he was begat of a beast."
"Esther's infidelity was not his fault!" Maleny felt like a broken record as she said those words, "How do I get that through your thick head!?"
"Everything that followed was because of Niklaus' obsession with the wolves! He ventured out to watch them turn under the full moon, and he took my youngest son, Henrik. He was but a child, and he was torn apart."
"But that was an accident!" Maleny got up to her feet.
"An accident?" Mikael nearly lost it then, "AN ACCIDENT? HE MURDERED MY WIFE! HIS OWN MOTHER! Who sought to cleanse him of his beast-like nature! He betrayed me. He turned my entire family against me! And yet, you defend him?"
"You didn't need anyone to make your children turn against you!" Maleny shouted right back but her voice hardly equaled his roar, "You were an awful father right from the start! Everything that happened was because of you - you and Esther."
"And what about you, my dear?" Mikael appeared to be amused by her, "Are you going to forget you participated in the very spell that created vampires?"
A distraught Esther and Mikael were coming out of a friend's (or ex-friend now) house when Maleny approached them, appearing rather nervous.
"I can help," the blonde declared, her fingers playing with each other as a way to relieve her nervousness. Esther looked at the young woman, expecting some explanation, "I know what you're trying to do to Klaus and the others...and I want to help."
"You?" Mikael couldn't help the scoff come from his mouth.
However, Esther seemed less reluctant, "Now wait a minute, I have taught her everything she knows and she is Abigail's daughter, meaning her power is grand."
"I will help as much as I can," Maleny promised.
"Do you even understand what we are trying to do?" Mikael wondered.
"Not completely," Maleny admitted sheepishly, "but I know you are trying to help Klaus and I will do anything to facilitate that."
Esther exchanged a brief glance with Mikael and quickly compiled an easy lie to really get the girl, "We want to strengthen our children, make it so that no one can hurt them."
Maleny seemed pleased with what she heard and smiled, "Then I will most definitely help. All I ask in return is that you allow me to keep seeing your children. I have lost who I loved most when I was a child and I do not wish for that to repeat itself."
Mikael smirked and nodded, "Then it is a deal, child."
"No, I stand by what I did," Maleny straightened up, "Because when I did it I was told it would strengthen them, never to make them into vampires. You and Esther lied, and that is why it's your fault. Do not stand there and blame me, Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah or any of your children for being what they are - for what you and your wife did."
Mikael super sped up to her and grabbed her by the neck, "I used to have appreciation for you," he seemed to be studying her face, "As a child you reminded me of my eldest daughter who died. When you grew up, I thought you would make a fine addition to the family as the wife of one of my sons..."
"I would've happily done that," Maleny coughed as the air struggled to get into her lungs.
"Oh no, no - you speak of Niklaus when I speak of my true sons," Mikael gripped her throat just a little tighter. Maleny's hands flung to his arms, trying to push him off, "Perhaps Finn? Elijah? or Kol? He was nearer to your age..."
"That would've happened over my dead body!" Maleny shouted and kicked his shin. While it did no actual harm, Mikael was forced to let go of her from the sudden spark of pain. Maleny immediately took a deep breath.
"You are a stupid girl," Mikael snatched her by the arm, baring his fangs out for her.
"N-n-n-n-no! Don't-"
But Mikael bit down on her neck and Maleny screamed in utter pain.
~ 0 ~
In the location of Mikael's earlier meal in the woods stood Klaus who finished feeding off the remainders of the living humans. He needed all the bits of strength he could gather if he wanted to save Maleny. His mind was buzzing with all the different strategies that could possibly guarantee Maleny returning home with her life, even if it was just her who was left alive. He hadn't stopped cursing himself for being the complete careless man he kept swearing to Maleny he wouldn't be to keep her safe. Every time he got the smallest distraction (and usually by her ironically) she was hurt.
His phone ringing interrupted his grim thoughts, and when he answered he didn't bother hiding his impatience and rage, "What the hell do you want now, Hayley!? I'm a busy."
"That's rude, even for you," Hayley said back, and Klaus could picture her rolling her eyes, "I take it you've done no progress with Maleny whatso-"
"Don't speak further if you know what's good for you!" Klaus snapped, "Was there a point to this phone call?"
"Something has happened to Elijah. He was supposed to be our decoy last night, and now he's vanished. There's blood everywhere- werewolf and vampire. There's a trail. Cami and I need you to help us track it."
Klaus pinched the bridge of his nose as he mentally added one more problem to his list, "Well, as much as I might like to help you find my brother, I have more pressing matters as the moment."
"What's more important than your own brother?" Hayley indignantly inquired.
"Not 'more important' simply a main priority," Klaus clarified, "Starting with the only one out of all of us that still has a live, beating heart."
"Maleny?" Hayley repeated, confused, "What's happened?"
"Mikael took her," Klaus answered, his rage bubbling in each of the words, "He took her and I'm trying to find her - on my own - before she's truly hurt."
"So you have a plan, then?"
"Not exactly. Mikael now has Tunde's blade and the white oak stake but I'm sure I'll come up with something."
"Klaus, are you out of your mind!?"
"Frankly, yes, but I'm sure that'll go away once I find Maleny...because I will find her," Klaus almost promised at the spot, "And then I'm gonna end this. Either Mikael or I will be ash by day's end."
"I think we would all prefer for the ashes to be Mikael's," Hayley cut in, sounding less irritated than before, "Be careful, and bring back Mal. Cami and I will work to get Elijah back."
"Sounds like a plan," Klaus said, though really the thought of his family hadn't even crossed his mind once since he'd began searching for Maleny. There was no room to think of anything else that didn't involve Maleny.

Cami was inside the bedroom she often used in the compound when she stayed overnight. She held Elijah's gifted journal in her hands, skimming a couple paragraphs across several pages. When she heard footsteps nearing, she looked up and saw Hayley coming in. She closed her journal, awkwardly placing her hands over it like she were protecting it from unwanted eyes.
Hayley saw the action and lightly smiled, "I'm not gonna pick the lock and peek," she playfully warned.
"Sorry," Cami flushed and looked down.
"You know Elijah often looked at that thing while you were gone," Hayley leaned against the dresser, smirking at Cami's horrified face, "I literally mean staring at its covers," Hayley clarified, "As if Elijah would peak into you diary."
"Right..." Cami bit her lip, feeling slightly guilty for thinking Elijah would read her private thoughts when he was the one who gifted her the journal.
"He missed you a lot," Hayley said quietly, "I think he would be happy to see you this concerned over him."
"Just because I left didn't mean I stopped caring for you guys," Cami shrugged.
"Oh c'mon, Cami, if Elijah had done the same thing you did wouldn't you feel a little distraught?"
Cami sighed, rubbing her face in frustration, "God, I messed up. I didn't...I didn't mean to cause all this trouble. I was having problems of my own and I just...I took an abrupt decision, okay? Everyone does it."
"Agreed," Hayley raised her hands to show her neutral side.
"I just...I just want him back here," Cami then said quieter, "Is Klaus on his way?"
"Yeah, about that..." Hayley pushed herself off the dresser and walked about in the room, "...see, there's another problem that he really has to take care of right now."
"What?" Cami frowned. "Is he serious? We need him here to help us find Elijah!"
"Cami," Hayley sharply looked at her, "he's trying to find Maleny."
Cami blinked rapidly for a couple seconds, "C-come again now? Why would he need to find Maleny? I thought he was following her?"
"They found Mikael, apparently, and I guess he broke free from Davina's spell or something because he took Maleny..."
"What!?" Cami jumped from her spot on the bed, letting her journal fall to the floor, "My cousin's missing and you didn't tell me right away!?"
"Sorry," Hayley meekly apologized, "Look, he's going to find Mal and we're going to find Elijah."
"We need to help find Maleny," Cami shook her head, quickly prioritizing in her mind.
"What? But what about Elijah?"
"You said that this place," Cami gestured to the compound, "was home for me too and that everyone here was family. We find the person who needs more help. Elijah's an Original and wherever he is he can't die but Maleny can. He would want us to go find her first."
Hayley could hear Elijah saying something similar, as he once showed it when he chose her before Klaus and Rebekah during Celeste's awful game. It was necessary prioritizing.

It wasn't long before Klaus caught up with Mikael's trail to the abandoned warehouse. He was walking in with no weapons save a makeshift stake from a discarded shovel he found outside. It was nothing compared to what Mikael possessed but it was all there was and he was going to fight no matter what.
He barely contained himself he came into the warehouse and found Mikael holding Maleny at knife-point. He could see Maleny already weakened by the dried up blood on her neck from an earlier feeding - her face of cuts and dirt were the prominent second. Her eyes begged to be helped as the knife poked her flesh.
"You're gonna pay for hurting her," he angrily warned, moving for them but Mikael purposely pricked Maleny's neck to keep him back, "You always talk about what a 'man' should do and yet you use a mortal in your fights?"
Mikael scowled at the accusation, "I don't need a mortal in my battles - I already have two weapons that could easily kill you. She was merely insurance that you followed the trail. However, I did make her a promise that I'd drain the rest of her right in front of your eyes, just before you burn."
"LET HER GO!" roared Klaus, baring his hybrid face. He charged with enough speed to prevent Mikael from threatening Maleny again. He pushed Mikael across the room towards the wall, but from the great blow they broke into the second room.
Maleny fell to the floor and gasped, her hand flying to her blood-covered neck. She winced at the many crashes from the other room and looked around for anything that could help bring down Mikael. She decided nothing could beat the white oak stake but it didn't mean she couldn't use her magic to help Klaus get an advantage over Mikael. Pushing herself up to her feet, she drew a big breath and focused on a spell.
In the next room, Klaus had gotten Mikael down to the floor and was able to retrieve the white oak stake. However, Mikael then flung to Papa Tunde's blade towards Maleny, making Klaus leave speed into the main room to catch the blade before it could hurt Maleny. In doing so, he allowed Mikael to retrieve the white oak stake again from the floor. Mikael wasn't one to waste time so sped up to Klaus and stabbed him in the chest.
To Maleny, it almost felt as if her world has stopped then, "NOO!" she screamed in horror.
Klaus gave his own shriek of pain, his face beginning to desiccate with the stake embedded in his chest. Mikael eagerly awaited for the fire to begin and truly end Klaus but when nothing happened he became furious.
"Why aren't you burning? If you were dead, it would burn. Burn!"
Maleny's breath hitched in her throat when she realized the same thing. There was a spell brewing and it was close by. Whatever it was, it was holding back the stake's power, meaning there was still time to save Klaus. As soon as Mikael left the room to find the mysterious spell's origin, Maleny dashed towards Klaus.
She dropped to her knees and began pulling on the stake, trying to get it out, "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon," she grunted, ignoring her teary eyes as best she could. She didn't know when the spell would stop so she needed to be quick, but her weakness had proven a little stronger, "Isabelle, please help," she whispered and took a deep breath and she reached out to her French coven's help. Once she felt the power source through her veins, she finally pulled the stake from Klaus' chest.
She began smiling when she saw the color return to his face, even though it would take a little longer for him to wake up. What she would give to hear one of his sarcastic remarks, or anything for that matter. Because if he spoke, he would be fine, and then she would be fine too.
"What do you think you're doing?" Mikael's voice startled her into getting up.
She gripped the stake in her hands, holding towards him, "Stay the hell away from us! Or, I swear to God, I'll kill you myself."
Mikael looked mildly impressed, "You have a warrior's heart. Perhaps I'll keep it as a souvenir."
"That's funny - you think I'm alone in this," Maleny smirked with a tilt of her head, "One thing about witches, most of us stand together," she lowered the stake and mustered all her energy to match Isabelle's coven's and with a powerful gust of wind flung Mikael back against a wall, "I am not the naive girl of forest anymore, Mikael. I've learned my share of battle techniques with the centuries!" she made for it to cause an aneurysm, though it was simultaneously draining what little energy she had left.
Thankfully, Hayley appeared, along with Marcel, and started pounding on Mikael. Cami ran straight in for her blonde cousin who wobbled on her feet.
"Now, ENOUGH!" Mikael roared in rage, finally able to shove Marcel backwards, "This night has been a long parade of fools. I'll enjoy killing every last one of you."
Klaus finally woke up with a gasp and wasted no time in getting up. Hayley grabbed a silver chain off the floor and threw it around Mikael's neck, pulling hard enough to knock him off his feet.
"Yeah, I wouldn't bet on it," she cast a smirk.
Davina entered the room in a hasty run, her neck oozing with blood Mikael had decided to feed on due to her spell. She went straight for Maleny, feeling awful she'd let her get caught in the crossfire. Though that also added to the many opponents Mikael already had - and that he knew.
"It's over, Mikael. You're outnumbered," Klaus called out to the man, "Are you going to beg for your miserable life?"
Mikael laughed, "You think having people makes you strong? It proves how weak you are. Come find me when you don't have fools, women and children fighting your battles," he threw them a scrap of wood at them before speeding out of the place.
The relief flooding the room became evident with the sighs that came out of everyone. After things got settled, Hayley and Marcel went to give the immediate area a final check for Mikael. Davina knew she had to get back to her 'friend' Kol who was outside, probably unconscious from Mikael's attack, but she wanted to have a word with Maleny first. She only took two steps forwards when Cami blocked the way.
"Cami, I just want to-"
"You've overdid it this time, Davina," the blonde scolded, though it was clear Cami struggled to be severely angry. She was still used to seeing Davina as just some kid who continued to be caught in crossfires of supernaturals. But now that she was a vampire, she had to force herself to see Davina as what she was: a witch with great power.
"I know," Davina agreed, but she wasn't sorry for trying to kill Klaus. She was only sorry Maleny got hurt and Marcel nearly died.
"Then you know I don't want to see you right now," Maleny called from her spot across the room, now sitting down on a wooden bench. She was waiting for Klaus to return with something to help her clean herself up. She needed Davina to be out of the room by that time that happened. God knows what the raging hybrid might do to the teen then.
"Mal, I'm really sorry," Davina ran a hand through her hair, frustrated.
"I know you are," Maleny could tell by her face the teen was genuinely sorry for her actions but it didn't erase all that happened, "I just don't want to see you right now. I think I'm entitled that after the day I had."
"If I can just explain-"
"Explain what, Davina?" Maleny couldn't help the cold tone lacing her words. She would've stood up if she felt herself again but for the moment she was stuck to the bench, "That you wanted to kill Klaus? Yeah, I heard the story. There's nothing to explain."
"You can't defend him, Mal! He's not a good person-"
"And neither are you, but you don't see me calling you out," Maleny said sourly, "I know what Klaus did to you and you don't know how sorry I am for that. You didn't deserve it."
"He killed Tim!" Davina exclaimed, her anger getting the best of her, "How can you defend that? Do you know how that feels?"
"See that's what I want you to think about," Maleny replied with, "If you know how that feels, losing someone you care about...why would you want to condemn to feel the same thing? After centuries of this curse, I...I don't think I could bear losing him anymore. If he dies then I will follow him."
"Mal, he's not…" Davina's eyes widened, gesturing back, "...he's not...he's not a good person! He's not worth it! You can do so much better-"
"I already have what I want from life and rest assure I will fight against anyone who threatens that," and however she could, she managed to stand but when Cami saw her wobbly legs she ran over to help, "And I'm sorry Davina, but if that means I have to fight you too...then I will."
Davina's eyes became glossy with the declaration, but she would not back down from what she felt was right, "Well," she swallowed down, "then I guess you've picked your side."
"I don't hate you Davina," Maleny whispered, "You're like a little sister to me..."
"I don't hate you either," Davina replied with the same whisper-like tone. Seeing there was no other thing to do, she turned on her heels and walked out.
Maleny sniffled and Cami slowly sat her down, "I'm sorry, Mal."
"For what?" Maleny sighed, "It wasn't you that tried to kill Klaus. I should be thanking you, actually. I heard Elijah's missing and yet you came down to help."
"Yeah well, Marcel learned what was going on and if Klaus dies so does he so that's how we got our ride here."
"And you?" Maleny looked at her cousin studiously, "You've gone for two weeks and you suddenly came by to help?" Cami guiltily looked to the side, "What happened, Cami?" Maleny asked quietly, "Elijah came back and said you two had a disagreement or something…"
"Petty disagreement," Cami dismissed the Original's topic with a clear of her throat.
"Right, well that 'petty disagreement'," Maleny did air quotation marks, "had Elijah moping around like never before," she then noticed the blush creeping over Cami's cheek, making her begin to smirk, "Cami...is there something you'd like to share with me?"
Cami thanked her lucky stars that Klaus came into the room as she was no where near ready to talk about that with Maleny.
"Not much but I did find this," the hybrid waved a long towel in his hand, "Marcel might be pretty irritated I ransacked his car."
Maleny smiled as he came up to them and Cami felt it was time to for her to go, "I'll go see if Hayley and Marcel are back," she excused herself with rapidness and hurried out.
"What's wrong with her?" Klaus asked curiously as he watched the blonde vampire head out rapidly.
"Oh, I'm pretty sure she's got the hots for your brother but doesn't realize it yet," Maleny shrugged casually and took the towel from him, "But don't tell anyone I said that."
Klaus would've laughed at her if it hadn't been for everything that had happened earlier. He bent down in front of her to clear up the dried blood from her when she noticed the stab wound on his chest hadn't cleared up yet.
"Is that going to hurt longer?" she whispered, gently placing a hand over the wound.
"It'll be fine soon enough," Klaus took her hand and gripped it, "You pulled the stake out in the nick of time. A moment longer, and I would have been done for."
Horrified to even hear that thought, she shook her head, "Don't even say it. I don't...I don't ever want to hear the possibility of that. Instead, I'd like to hear how we plan to kill Mikael as soon as we get the chance. Because I want him dead - to ashes if possible."
Klaus raised an eyebrow, taken aback by the cold bluntness in her tone, "Well, and here I thought you'd be getting rest and-"
"Listen," Maleny stopped him with her other hand, "When we stop Mikael and find Elijah then you can be a good nurse this time and put me to bed…" and then she thought how that sounded out a second later, "...okay, that sounded less awkward in my head," Klaus smirked and Maleny, embarrassed, laughed and hid her face behind her hands, "Shut up, just shut up and don't say anything."
Klaus lowered her hands from her face and softened as he reached to touch the bite marks still clear on her neck, "You shouldn't have been caught in this…"
"I've always been in this and that's the way I want it to be," Maleny firmly told him, "This is my side, my choice and no one's going to take it from me," surprised, Klaus blinked and slowly began to smile.
"You made your decision," Klaus felt like a child the way he said it, unable to hide his relief and happiness as he cupped her face.
"In the end, this is my family," Maleny softly said, purposely leaning forwards, "I came so far and I'm not losing any one of you for anything nor anyone."
She had the most beautiful of smiles across her face, so Klaus thought. He traced her lips with a thumb, wondering what kind of scold he would get from her if he stole a kiss off her. Unfortunately, mere seconds after he decided going for one, the others returned.
"So, Mikael's no where to be seen," Hayley announced, eyeing the pink-faced Maleny.
Klaus rose to his feet and turned to the trio, looking less embarrassed than Maleny, "I appreciate your assistance."
Marcel smiled, "Well, hey! You die, I die. Just call me selfish," but his eyes moved to Maleny and for the first time since they met, he spoke to her a in a kind tone, "I'm glad you're okay too, Maleny."
The blonde nodded, "Thank you. I'm glad my cousin's been in good care for this past week. I really appreciate that."
"And now that everything's a little better, I think we all need to turn our attention to Elijah," Cami reminded them all, hoping she didn't sound rude, "And we should hurry up."
And just like she wanted, they did.

One day passed and to everyone's misfortune (especially Cami's) Elijah was no where in sight. It led Klaus to do his common strategies when time was turning precious - torture. Consequently, in her piano room, Maleny desperately tried to drown out the shrill cries of pain by trying to successfully reproduce a tune Elijah had been meaning to teach her.
"Lavender's blue..." she mumbled to herself, wincing every now and then, "...lavender...lavender..." but then came the biggest scream possible and she quit, "Ah!" she growled in frustration and raised her hands, balling them into fists.
It had been her ridiculous attempt to get over being kidnapped and nearly killed instead of going for the usual 'take a rest and nap' thing. Clearly, nothing would be working. Taking a breath, she got up and left the room.
She passed Klaus' bedroom in favor of Hayley's, knowing the first was locked for clear reasons. Hayley was already having a conversation with Klaus in the nursery room, the connecting doors of Klaus' room also shut.
"So, the word 'interrogation' has lost the meaning I knew about," Maleny walked in more or less annoyed with the disturbance.
"Turns out witches are delicate creatures," Klaus said without thinking and earned himself a mock glare.
"Thanks," Maleny crossed her arms.
"Of course not you, love," Klaus casually corrected himself, unaware of the blush and smile the blonde acquired from the comment, "No matter! I suspected my mother had Elijah captive."
"Great," Haley started fishing for her phone in her jeans' pocket, "Then let's call Cami and tell her. She's been out looking with Gia."
But Klaus refused with a shake of his head, "Esther is too powerful. She won't be easily found. I need to draw her out."
"On your own," Maleny blinked, "That's too dangerous."
"Well you can't come with me, can you?" Klaus countered with and quickly shut Hayley down before she nominated herself, "And since you need someone to watch over you, Hayley's staying here."
"Are we really going through this whole babysitting thing again?" Maleny raised an eyebrow, "Because I think I've dealt with worse things now."
"Look, if either of you come," Klaus gestured between her and Hayley, "then my mother will be sure to use one of you - if not both of you - to thwart me. I can't save Elijah if I'm busy saving you," he moved to close the doors again when Maleny stopped him.
"Can we talk afterwards, then?" Maleny inquired in low whisper, "It's really important," and yet even though it was so important she hadn't had the chance to talk to him about it since they returned from Mikael's adventure. Klaus had immediately set to finding Elijah all through the day and the morning.
"Afterwards," Klaus promised with a wide smile, moving back into his room.
Maleny sighed and whirled around to Hayley, looking more than disappointed. Hayley patted her arm and started leading her back to her own room on the other side of the nursery, "There, there, you want a drink?"
Maleny playfully rolled her eyes, "You can't get me drunk to forget my problems, Hayley. One of these days, it's not going to work."
Hayley laughed as they walked out of her room when they both heard a new voice calling out from the courtyard.
"Hello?" it was a young woman's voice...and French too, "Hello? Is anyone in here?"
Maleny's eyes widened as she recognized the voice and therefore the woman. She quickly ran up to the banister and looked down to see a tall, dark-haired woman standing in the middle, curiously looking around.
Hayley came up beside her, confused of what was happening, "Who's that, Mal?"
Maleny smiled at the woman below, "Amarrah!"

Cami and Gia walked into Marcel's apartment wearing glum faces, though the blonde looked more upset as was expected. After patrolling the Quarter, and the Algiers, they came up with nothing new on Elijah.
"So I'm assuming the search wasn't a success?" Marcel asked from the couch.
"Do you see an Original with us?" Cami sarcastically motioned to the space around her.
"She's a bit cranky cos she hasn't slept at all," Gia sarcastically smiled as she plopped down to the couch across Marcel, "We did what you advised - kept a low profile - went all over the city but there's no sign of Elijah anywhere."
"Yeah," Marcel nodded, "The humans I know said the same thing. Maybe Klaus is having better luck?"
"He would've called me already," Cami rubbed her face in pure frustration. She could not believe Elijah had been gone for days now and without leaving a trace.
"Actually," Hayley strolled into the room, "He would not have. Mal would kill him if he did."
Cami quickly turned around for the brunette, "Has he found him yet?"
"No," Hayley shook her head, "But I could use a rescue mission team again."
"For Elijah…?"
"Nope, that's all Klaus," Hayley clarified, "I'm talking about Oliver. Now, he and Elijah were fighting the werewolves together. I've heard that Oliver's been captured and is about to be executed. Now, look- if we can save Oliver, then we might be able to find out where Elijah is."
Marcel thought the plan wrong and made his question, "Kay, so what do you want from us?"
"Just a little distraction. Esther's son, Finn, he's the one that's controlling the werewolves. If you can keep him out of the way, I can go get Ollie myself."
"You can't take on all those wolves by yourself. You'll get killed, and then I'll get killed for letting it happen."
Hayley sighed, "I'm not going in alone. The werewolves may be answering to the witches, but they still have an Alpha. I just have to find him."
"Jackson?" Cami recalled the name of Hayley's supposed betrothed and frowned, "He's been gone for months now. How do you expect to find him?"
Hayley didn't have a clear plan but she knew she was going to find him no matter what, "Are you in or out?"
Cami bit her lip, glancing at the window, "But Elijah…"
"Will be found by Klaus," Hayley assured.
"And Mal…?"
"She sort of has company today," Hayley crossed her arms, "So she'll be pretty safe with that woman. Cami, I really need your help. Can I count on you?"
Cami looked at the brunette and nodded, "Of course," and she motioned for Hayley to lead the way.

Amarrah Collins, daughter of one of the heads in the French coven that helped Maleny recuperate, sat on the foot of Maleny's bed intently studying every aspect of Maleny's bedroom. The expression on Amarrah's face led Maleny to believe she was angry - or at the very least annoyed. To be fair, Maleny was also annoyed with her abrupt presence because she knew Isabelle had sent the daughter to look after her.
"You were kidnapped," Amarrah broke the tensed silence in the room, finally returning her emerald green eyes to Maleny, the blonde leaning against her dresser.
"I suppose Isabelle felt the channeling of powers..." Maleny sighed, but was far stunned after Amarrah made a revelation.
"I have been in the Quarter for two weeks now and I am, frankly, appalled with your situation and the Mikaelsons."
"Wh-what-"
"How in the hell does this all powerful hybrid think it safe for you to wander the streets on your own when you could be hunted down?"
Maleny was blinking rapidly, her mind racing to let it sink in that Amarrah had basically been witness to all that occurred in the last two weeks. Amarrah was a genuinely fun person to be around with - a very witty woman - but when she was angry God help the people who are on the receiving end.
"Maleny, I thought this man, though impulsive as you said, was responsible," Amarrah crossed her arms, quite frankly disappointed she hadn't gotten a chance to meet this Klaus to give him a piece of her mind.
"He is-" Maleny meekly began but Amarrah wasn't finished.
"You have been in and out of this compound and mostly on your own. Very few times have I witnessed either the brunette woman accompanying you. My mother was right - you are in way over your head."
"Now wait a minute," Maleny straightened up, "People can't be with me 24/7. I can walk now, Ams, and I have enough power to defend myself."
"That's not the point," Amarrah interjected, "If someone finds to your last corpse and so happens to know witches they can bring you down."
"Thanks Ams," Maleny walked away from her French friend.
Amarrah sighed, softening somewhat, "You know I care for you, Mal, but I am very concerned for you alright? You told my mother Esther was back and, well...she's crazy!"
"I noticed," Maleny sarcastically said back, pretending to fiddle with a cardigan draped over her vanity desk chair.
"And then you were kidnapped. Do you know how crazy I went when I figured it out!? Mal, I was up and ready to call Mum!"
"You didn't actually do that did you!?" Maleny had whirled around in terror of the idea.
"No," Amarrah assured, "But I feel like I should have. I had no idea how to find you without anything of yours."
"I'm back, and I'm okay," Maleny gestured to her perfectly well appearance.
"I am very relieved," Amarrah sternly said, "But I am very serious about your security guards around here."
Maleny groaned and walked over to her bed, promptly letting herself fall flat on her back. She shut her eyes, "Please, not you too. Anyone but you. You're the fun one! The party one!"
"Am not," Amarrah shot her an offended look, "I'm a Police detective for crying out loud! I don't party."
"But you are still the fun one," Maleny insisted, opening her eyes, "And I am begging you not to talk about my 'safety measures'. For all that is good please spare me it."
Amarrah held her hands in surrender, "I suppose I'm not the first one who's brought it up?"
"You suppose right. Everyone does it - it's like the hot news of every freaking day. But oh! There's no one who does it more than Klaus."
"Hm, I guess there had to be something he did right in the midst of all this," Amarrah pretended to mutter to herself and got a whack on the arm from Maleny, "He couldn't be all bad, I meant."
"He's not bad to me, Ams. We can have our arguments and silent treatments but...even when you saw me out in the Quarter alone I knew he was somewhere in the crowd watching me over."
"Seriously?" Amarrah glanced at the blonde, doubtful. She had figured out there must have been a falling out between Maleny and Klaus during the two weeks she had been there, but she did come to believe the hybrid had just let her friend roam the streets on her own. "How would you know that? Did you see him?"
"Nope."
"Then how would you know?" she insisted again.
Maleny smiled to herself, staring up at the ceiling, "Because that's what he always does. It's actually kind of cute that he thinks I don't know he does it."
Amarrah made a face at that but Maleny didn't see it due to her dreamy stare up above, "You have one weird relationship, have I mentioned?"
Maleny sighed, "It's unique. And I like unique. But you know what I would really like more?"
"What?"
"To actually be in a proper, official relationship."
Amarrah gaped then, "You mean you're still..." she made a gesture with her hand, "...not together?"
"We've been busy," Maleny mumbled, "Arguing...and then solving problems...and arguing...a lot…" at the look Amarrah gave Maleny groaned, "It's not because of him. It's actually my fault."
"How so?"
"It's me being afraid, like usual," Maleny sighed, "It took one of my friends to give me a reality check. I've been meaning to talk to him but there's been some interruptions. But hopefully, when Klaus finds his brother we'll get some free time and I can tell him that I love him."
"I mean...if that's what you want to do," Amarrah scratched her head. Maleny rolled her eyes, knowing quite well that her friend disagreed with her love life. But, unlike Davina, she didn't constantly try to turn her away from it. She understood that it wasn't something she could understand. She was barely twenty six and hadn't really left her ranch town home in France in all of her life.
"I do," Maleny said with absolutely no doubt in her mind.
Amarrah then looked at her again, amusingly smiling, "You have such a weird relationship though..."
Maleny matched her smile, grateful they were slowly falling into their normal selves again, "Hey, at one point in our lives, Klaus and I were normal. It just another story of girl likes boy, boy likes girl."
"Yeah, before boy's parents turned boy into a hungry vampire," Amarrah reminded.
"Something girl also helped them to do," Maleny sat upright and shrugged, "But even after that, it was all good. I mean, there was a point where Klaus pushed me away while he learned to control himself, but eventually he did and we were okay again. All this that's happened, while bad, I wouldn't give up for a 'redo'."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously," Maleny nodded, "Because if we had stayed human we would have been dead for centuries now. There would be no New Orleans, no Cami, no Hayley, no Amarrah," she nudged the dark haired woman, "No French ranch...no little Hope Mikaelson."
"But there could have been different Mikaelson children," Amarrah didn't fail to bring up, "A child, Mal. Children. And they would be yours and Klaus. You wouldn't have been a step mother to some kid."
"I haven't even met Hope and I already love her to bits so please don't ever make it sound like it would be a burden to care for her," Maleny sharply scolded, understanding it hadn't been Amarrah's intention but she never wanted to hear something like that again, "And as for my own kids...they would've been nice - Klaus and I did have plans - but...it didn't happen. And it's sad, but there's nothing to do now."
Amarrah put an arm around Maleny's shoulders, "You're right, though," she said, in an attempt to uplift the mood she had brought down, "All this may be weird but you do sure love your weirdness."
That Maleny chuckle, "Oh Ams, I've missed you. And I'm fairly crossed you didn't come to me the moment you arrived to the Quarter."
"Sorry," Amarrah retracted her arm and stood up, Maleny noticing the sudden change in her tone, "I got, unintentionally, mixed up in a problem."
"What do you mean?"
Amarrah bit her lip nervously, "Mal, there's something you need to know."
"Like?"
"Okay," Amarrah sucked in a big breath and said it all in one go, "By accident I sort of made myself friends with the man I believe is your almost-boyfriend's older brother."
"Finn?" Maleny's mouth fell open.
"Mhm, please don't tell my mother! She will definitely kill me!"
"Ams, what's wrong with you!?"
"I didn't know who he was until a week ago! I thought he was just some guy renting me my apartment!"
"He's passing himself off as your landlord?" Maleny made a face, beginning to grow angry.
"I swear I was going to handle it on my own but I don't exactly know how to deal with a Mikaelson! Especially with a powerful witch like Finn."
"We'd need more people for that job," Maleny pointed, "But for now, I think you may be able to help out with another problem. Ams, I seriously hate to ask you but do you think you could help one of my friends today?"
"Sure, I guess," Amarrah shrugged, "But what's that go to do with this?"
"Because I'm pretty sure you're the key to helping Hayley save her friend from execution today," Maleny sighed and got up, walking to her nightstand where her phone laid.

And so that was how Amarrah found herself opening the door to her apartment for 'Vincent' (Finn) later on that day. Meeting up with this Hayley woman, they devised a plan in which Amarrah would keep Vincent occupied for an entire afternoon while she saved her friend Oliver from dying. That was why her kitchen's sink was an utter disaster.
'Vincent' may probably not even leave until late night came by.
And Finn having no idea who Amarrah herself was nor the trick being played, went right along with it.

Maleny read the text message Amarrah managed to send her a couple minutes back. She then texted Hayley to freely move on with her plan to save Ollie. Afterwards, the blonde headed for her room in the compound, still glum she'd been practically sent back like a kid to wait out the danger. Without Klaus, Elijah nor Hayley to 'look after her' Maleny was put under Cami's jurisdiction...though Cami herself wasn't too pleased with the plan. But since Hayley had technically found a much easier way to distract Finn, there hadn't been a need for much backup.
"Still nothing," a distraught Cami walked into Maleny's room, throwing off her jacket in frustration, "I thought Klaus was supposed to be good at hunting people down. Why hasn't he called?"
"Because he's still looking," Maleny said the obvious and earned a mock-glare from Cami.
"This isn't funny!" the blonde vampire exclaimed, "Elijah disappeared without a trace. Esther could be hurting him right now!"
"I doubt it, honestly," Maleny dismissed it casually as she continued ripping out pages from her journal, "Esther can be twisted but her methods are non life-threatening. She just wants them to accept her offer."
"You mean the one to place them, Hayley and I into mortal bodies?" Cami scoffed at the absurdity and went to sit on Maleny's bed.
Maleny sat at the edge and was filling up her area with balled papers, "The very one. Of course for me the offer is to get my previous corpse back and finally end the curse."
Cami shifted to face the blonde, "But can she really do it, though? Can she find your corpse?"
"I don't think she has to look very far," Maleny said and Cami tilted her head curiously, waiting for a clarification. Maleny stopped ripping up papers to look at her cousin, "It took me longer to figure out but I finally did. Esther has had my corpse this entire time."
Cami's eyes widened, "What!? How would you know!?"
"Because she never said to find my corpse, she was always keen on making sure I understood she could end the curse," Maleny elaborated the brief clue but clue nonetheless, "Anyone offering me a deal would begin more specifically by assuring me they would help me find the corpse. She's so calm about this curse and someone who has no pawns to play wouldn't be. She has my corpse somewhere, hidden no doubt."
"And you say this calmly?" Cami blinked rapidly, "If you've known this why didn't you say something?"
"Because I only just realized it," Maleny sighed.
"Are you going to tell Klaus?"
"Eventually, but after he gets Elijah back. Priorities."
Cami gave a nod of understanding. She seemed to be grateful for Maleny's way of thinking. Right now, their main priority was getting Elijah back. She really missed the Original in the sharp suit. Time seemed to pass far slower than it normally would, and it would continue to until Klaus returned with Elijah.
~ 0 ~
"You know, I liked this whole distracting thing," Amarrah chuckled over the phone, making Maleny roll her eyes. She should've figured Amarrah would be laughing over the grave situation. Amarrah always talked about adventure back in France, how she wanted to travel and do new things. Maleny wondered if these were the sorts of things Amarrah was thinking about.
"Well, Hayley says thanks," Maleny stood at the doorway of her room, actively waiting for the return of Klaus and hopefully Elijah, "She got Ollie back. She's in the bayou right now with him and apparently Jackson."
"But you know, speaking strategically, this thing could be good for you guys," Amarrah paused for a minute, "I think he may like me."
"No, trust me," Maleny shook her head, "Finn has only ever loved one woman and I doubt she'll ever make an appearance. You're some type of pawn for him and Esther."
"Oh, thanks," Amarrah laughed for a minute before going sober, "I meant that this little thing your friend Finn has with me can come in handy when you need another distraction - or even information. Haven't you heard the saying? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer?"
"Except I doubt that saying was talking about a thousand-old witch and her son," Maleny leaned off the door fringe and sighed.
"I'm only saying, Mal. It can come in handy."
"Thank you Amarrah, seriously," Maleny said quietly, "And I'm glad you decided to tell me you were here. Though I'm still not content that Isabelle made you come just to keep an eye on me."
"It's alright," Amarrah said, "The entire family's worried about you, Mal. You've been our most precious possession for centuries."
"Because that doesn't make me feel weird," Maleny laughed, her cheeks a bright pink.
"You are, hush! Now, I must leave you for sleep. Goodnight, Mal. And...good luck with your special talk tonight."
Maleny then blushed deeper, "Goodnight Amarrah," she quickly said back then hung up.
Just as she returned to her bedroom, she heard noise from downstairs. She quickly left her cellphone in her room and ran out, barely catching Klaus going into Elijah's room upstairs.
"Cami!" Maleny immediately called for and ran for Elijah's bedroom. Elijah was laid flat on his bed, his clothes torn and disheveled, "What happened to him?" she asked Klaus quietly.
"My mother," Klaus muttered just as Cami hurried inside.
"Oh my God!" the blonde was in horror but nonetheless ran for Elijah's side, "What the hell happened to him?" she didn't know how to care for him, nor even how to touch him fearing she would only hurt him. He was breathing erratically and shifting in his sleep, which Cami figured wasn't really 'asleep' but some sort of trance or spell.
"It was Esther, she had him in the cemetery and did God knows what," Klaus shook his head and headed out of the room.
"How do we help him?" Cami turned after him but remained put.
"I don't know yet," Klaus answered and glanced to his brother, for once having no idea how to help, "Esther said he would be asleep for an entire day, and then...I don't know..."
Esther had shown Elijah 'the error of his ways' and left him in that state. There would be dire consequences and Klaus could only fear what they were.

Predatory Behaviour Trigger Warning Stalking
Title: Predatory Behavior
CHAPTER NO.: 1/?
AUTHOR:Solaramoonset
ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine you are walking home alone after a long shift. As you pass a doorway a man catcalls out to you, inviting you to “come have a good time”. You quickly state you’re late to meet your fiance and hurry on. You hear the man start to follow you.
RATING: Teen
NOTES: Warning Predatory Behavior The last name Proctor is a nod at Rebekah Barnes' married name. And her two named grandchildren Kimberly and Scott. Rating May go up as story progresses.
The hospital had been toiling since the alien attack a few days ago. In between patients I had seen snippets of news coverage, Ironman had a super hero team now I guess. With all the injuries it was hard to keep up with the latest events. I learned a long time ago to listen to what the news told, not the wild rumors patients sometimes spread. The near constant flow of patients had slowed down to a trickle, I could finally go home for a few hours instead of the cat naps I had been catching in the nurses' lounge. I palmed my keys and held my purse tight, it was only a few blocks walk home, but this was still New York, at night. I didn't want to take any chances.
“Hey there pretty lady, why don't you come on over here? We can show you a fun time!” a voice called out to me as I passed by an alley.
“No thank you. I'm late to meet my fiance.” I hurried past, not stopping as I called over my shoulder.
“Don't be like that baby!” footfalls echoed behind me. I didn't bother to look, I broke into a speed walk. Two blocks, just two more more and I can call out to the doormen for help. Turning the corner I saw a figure from the news. He was tall and a little lanky, dark hair to his shoulders. I couldn't remember which news clip I had seen but I was sure he was in one of the ones with Iron man. He had to be one of those superhero people. He was gazing intently into a glowing blue cube and didn't seem to notice anything going on around him. I sprinted to his side and grabbed his arm, warping myself around it.
“I need you to pretend to know me for a moment. Please help me.” I whispered up at him. His eyes meet mine in surprise before hardening into something darker. I'm not sure if it was my tone, or that I was shaking but I knew I had his complete attention.
“Tell me pet, what has you so terrified, so … desperate you’d seek out my help?” his whisper was just as soft as mine but seemed almost, lethal. I heard the footfalls again and my shaking grew.
“Baby, don't go running off like that. You know you'll like it, eventually.” this voice was different from the two before. At least three men had been following me. In my fear, my grip tightened on the hero's arm. Something in his eyes clicked, he seemed to understand. A feral grin split his mouth. That look, that terrifying look, reminded me of who he was. He hadn't help fight off the invasion of New York, he had been leading it!
“Oh shit! Is that Loki? That bitch was meeting Loki?”
“He don't look so tough. Come on lets kick his ass, for New York!”
Loki turned us so I was behind him. He gently pulled his arm from my hold. “Stay behind me, pet. This will only take a moment.” he pushed the blue cube into my hands, daggers appearing in his the moment his hands were empty. Faster than I could follow Loki had four men on the ground. None of them were moving or making a sound. Loki turned towards me, his daggers disappearing. I slowly lifted the cube. My arm shook, Loki frowned at my arm.
“Come with me pet. There's someone a little less terrifying than myself, who can help calm you.” Loki put one arm around my shoulders and the world spun and stretched around us. When it stopped we were in a swanky, half finished looking apt. A hulking and towering shape moved toward us. A blonde giant stepped into the light. I squeaked and ducked behind Loki. I wasn't sure why he thought this guy would be less frightening, he was huge!
“Loki, brother, I am glad to see you. But I must insist you face judgment for your actions against Midgard.” The giant boomed. I shrank further back. Loki watched me over his shoulder.
“How interesting... Thor stop being an imposing idiot.” I looked up at Loki, surprised he was still trying to protect me.
“Brother, who is your … friend?” Thor took a step back and lowered his tone, he must have just notice me hiding behind Loki. His movements were slow. Loki raised an eyebrow at me, that's when I realized I hadn't even introduced myself to Loki.
“My name's Kimberly Proctor. I'm a nurse at Brooklyn General. I ran into some trouble tonight on my way home, and Loki saved me.” I'm rather proud of the fact my voice didn't shake too badly.
“And terrified her more in the process. I had hoped seeing one of the Hero's of New York would relax her but you seemed to do the opposite. Honestly you great oaf, what am I going to do with you?” Loki sound put out. I looked between the two for a moment before giggling softly. Their actions reminded me so much of myself and my brother I couldn't help but laugh. “That's better pet, no need to be afarid.”
“What kinda of trouble has you rescuing damsels, Loki?” Thor was still keeping his voice soft. I guess he didn't want to startle me.
“Predatory behavior, four against this little one. It has been dealt with.” Loki shrugged.
“It's still odd that you would help. What is there for you to gain?”
“I am not a monster, Thor.”
“Not two days ago you were trying to take over this realm. You killed eighty mortals.”
“Yes because it makes sense that I, who only want to be your equal and never wanted a throne, would try to bring a world to its knees in subjugation. Nothing seems off about that logic. Tell me brother how many did you kill on Jotunheim? How many would have died in a needless war your pride almost started?” Loki rolled his eyes as I placed a hand on his arm. He looked down at me.
“Thank you, Loki.” Loki just stared at me a moment. Thor too had turned his gaze to me. Maybe my attempt to ease the tension in the room was more obvious than I had planned.
“You are welcome.”
“I really mean it, Thank you.”
“But...?”
“I don't want you to think I'm ungrateful, because I'm extremely grateful, you have no idea, but may I go home? I'm calmer now and I only have a few hours before I'm due back at the hospital.” Loki sighed at my request.
“You were never my prisoner, you may come and go as you like.”
“If its not too much trouble can you take me back to where we were? It's a little less than two blocks home from there.”
“I could, but how about I take you to your home? Save you a few blocks?”
“Brother.” there was a warning in Thor's tone, but I'm not sure why.
“Thank you, that would be great. I live off of Fifth street and South High.” Loki wrapped his arm around me as Thor called out. Demanding we stop. The world spun and stretched again; when it stopped we were in front of my building. I looked up at Loki.
“I really don't know whats been happening the past few days, but I'm glad you're still in the city. Thank you Loki, for everything. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight Lady Proctor.” Loki watched as I entered my building, disappearing after I was safely inside. I trudged up the stairs looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. There was a dark shape resting against the wall by my door. A shape I knew all too well.
“Go away Scott.”
“What? An alien invasion hits New York and I can't check on my baby sister? I go to the hospital and they tell me you've already left, yet I get here before you? What's up?” I unlock my door and squeeze in shutting the door before Scott can enter.
“I love you Scott but if if let you in, we'll spend hours talking and fighting and all I want right now is to sleep in my own bed for a few hours. I'm fine. Go away. I'll text you when I can, ok?” I called through the door.
“At least let me sleep on your couch? You know it's a two day drive for me to get here!” I sighed and opened the door.
“Just one night Scott. One. Then you're heading back to New Orleans.” I called as I headed to my bedroom.
“I'm staying a week!” he called back.
Morning came far too soon. I quietly left for work as Scott snored on my couch. In theory after my shift today I had two days off. That was if things had settled down enough that I could take those days off. Maybe it would be good for Scott to stay a week. We hadn't really seen each other since Grandma Bekah died. I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't notice the black SUV pull up beside until I was pulled off the street and into the back. As we speed away a man with an eye patch and what look like a long black coat turned around from the front to look at me.
“It's nice to meet you Miss Proctor. My name is Nick Fury and we have a lot to talk about.”

The tension was palpable. Elena, Bonnie and Mackenzie were at the Grill and a cold silence had settled between them. Mackenzie hadn’t said a word to Elena ever since she had come back earlier that morning. The doppelganger had tried to apologize, but Mackenzie didn’t want an apology. She didn’t need one. It was Rebekah she should apologize to. The fact that Stefan had screwed up their plans and saved Klaus, allowing the hybrid to kill his father, didn’t change a single thing.
“So,” Bonnie eventually said. “This is fun.”
Mackenzie looked away. She had nothing to say.
“Look, I know you’re mad at me, and I understand, I deserve it. I just…”
“I don’t want to hear it,” Mackenzie said. “There’s nothing you can say that would make this better, Elena.”
“I’m having nightmares!” Bonnie blurted out to change the conversation. Both pair of eyes turned to her. “Every time I close my eyes, I have that nightmare on repeat. Four coffins, Klaus is in one of them.”
“It’s called wishful thinking,” Mackenzie said.
Bonnie chuckled slightly.
“What if it’s not just some dream? What if it’s like, you know, a witch dream?” Elena suggested.
“It’s just stress. I’ll figure it out,” Bonnie shrugged. “What about Stefan? Has there been any sign of him?”
“He betrayed us, Bonnie,” Elena shook her head, like she didn’t want to talk about him at all, “the Stefan that we knew is gone.”
“How’s Damon handling it?”
“Damon is… Damon,” Elena sighed. “You know him. He’ll drink, do something stupid and we’ll fight and repeat.”
“Well, good luck with that,” the witch said as she picked up her bag that was hanging from one side of her chair, “I gotta go.”
“See you later.”
“Bye, Bonnie,” Mackenzie gave her a small smile before she left.
Elena sighed. “Look, can we talk?”
“About what?”
Mackenzie wondered where this spite was coming from. She usually was a forgiving person. Perhaps, she thought, this was just unforgivable. Perhaps, she didn’t care what happened to her, but she cared about what happened to others. Perhaps, the fire inside of her was just too strong.
“Look, I don’t feel good about what I did.”
“But you did it anyway.”
“Yes, I did. And I’d do it again. Because she could’ve turned on us.”
“Yeah, because last night was such a success.”
Elena frowned. She didn’t recognize this side of Mackenzie. Where was the shy girl who acted like she wished she could become invisible? She wondered if that was the result of spending a summer with Katherine Pierce.
“You’re right,” Elena nodded, “it was wrong of me to do that. It’s one of the worst things I have ever done.”
“I told you, you don’t need to apologize to me.”
“I just don’t want us to fight.”
“I’m mad at you Elena. I’m gonna need some time to get over it.”
Elena nodded. “I understand. I’ll give you your space.”
***
Jeremy got fired a week before, and somehow that was now Mackenzie’s problem. Not that she was complaining. She was leaving under their roof, after all, for free. The least she could do was be supportive and help plan an intervention. Besides, it felt good to be a part of something other than supernatural drama. Cooking with Alaric, setting the table with Elena, it felt… like home. Elena had kept her word and gave Mackenzie space. Or, at least, as much space as she could give her since they lived under the same roof.
“You ready?” Alaric asked the eldest Gilbert.
“Vampires, hybrids and Originals? No problem. My rebellious brother? I’m worried.”
“At least you have a brother to be worried about,” Mackenzie said. She didn’t realize it might have come out wrong and bitchy, she just wanted Elena to appreciate how lucky she was to have a family and a history professor so dedicated he was almost like a parent to her. “Sorry… I didn’t mean to be harsh.”
“No, it’s okay,” Elena smiled. “You’re right.”
Jeremy entered the house through the front door and somehow Elena looked even more nervous than when she was planning to kill the worst paranoid psychopath in history.
“Just in time,” she said. We’re cooking.”
“Sorry, just passing through,” he said as he opened the fridge.
“Oh, well I thought we’d all stay in… have a meal together like a typical… atypical family…” Alaric stuttered.
Mackenzie suppressed a laugh.
“Why?”
“Maybe because you got fired and you didn’t tell anyone,” Elena answered.
It wasn’t so hard to suppress that laugh anymore.
Jeremy rolled his eyes. “Look, can we do this later? I made plans with Tyler. He’s right outside.”
Alaric and Elena straightened up. “Wait,” the professor said, “when did you start hanging out with Tyler?”
“I don’t know,” he shrugged. “Does it matter?”
“Yeah, Jeremy, it matters. He was sired by Klaus. He’s dangerous!” his sister said.
Jeremy chuckled. “He can still hear you, he’s right outside. Besides, you of all people are gonna lecture me on who I can and can’t hang out with?”
“What is with the attitude?”
“Whatever. This is lame. Tyler’s waiting,” he said before he started walking away.
“No. Oh, no, no, no, no. You’re not going anywhere, especially not with Tyler,” she stopped him.
Jeremy looked at Alaric for help, but found none.
“Fine, you want us to stay in, then let us all stay in,” he said, “Yo, Tyler, come on in!” he called for the hybrid who walked right through the front door.
Maybe it wasn’t so bad being an orphan after all, Mackenzie thought.
Tyler walked towards them and sat at the table, invited by Jeremy who sat next to him.
“This is weird,” Elena chuckled humorlessly, “Klaus has hybrids stalking me, now you’re just sitting in our kitchen.”
“Look, maybe I should go,” the hybrid said as he got up.
“No, stay, you’re not doing anything,” Jeremy insisted.
“Unless you have to, you know, check in with your hybrid master,” Elena said.
Tyler laughed. “It’s not like that, Elena.”
“Tell me, Tyler,” Alaric said as he sat down at the table, “what is the difference between being sired and being compelled?”
“Compulsion, that’s just mind control. Like hypnosis. Being sired is…” he paused, looking for the words, “it’s like faith. You do something because you believe it’s the right thing.”
“So, do you believe that serving Klaus is the right thing?” Elena asked.
“I don’t serve him. Klaus released me from a curse that was ruining my life. I owe him for that.”
“What if he asked you to jump off a bridge?” Alaric asked.
“He wouldn’t,” he said, as if he was sure of it, “And even if he did, I’d be fine. I’m a hybrid.”
“Okay, so, what if he asked you to rip your own heart out?”
“Again, he wouldn’t.”
“But what if he did?”
“I don’t know! Then I’d rip out my heart!”
Mackenzie almost jumped on her chair. She looked up at Elena who practically had the same look on her face. That sirebond business was worse than she had previously thought.
“You guys sound like Caroline. Getting freaked out over something you don’t understand.”
“You’re right, Tyler, I don’t understand. Klaus has terrorized every single one of us and you’re just blindly loyal to him?”
“You’re overthinking it. I can still make my own decisions.”
Mackenzie took a good look at Tyler, studying the magic that was keeping him alive, giving him his power. She wondered if she could remove that part of him that felt loyal to Klaus. She had no idea how she’d do it, but she wondered if it were possible. Her thoughts were cut short though as Jeremy’s phone rang.
“What was that about?” his sister asked when he returned.
“Nothing, don’t worry about it.”
“I gotta go,” Tyler told them. “Thanks for the food offer but um… next time,” he said before he left.
“Well, that was illuminating,” Alaric said once the hybrid was gone. He took his plate and walked over to the sink, Elena followed him.
“So, Tyler Lockwood is a lunatic who has access to our house.”
“I mean… this whole sirebond thing is wild.”
“Jeremy?” Mackenzie said as the teenager removed his ring and walked out of the room.
“Jer?” Elena called after her brother, but he didn’t respond. “Where are you going, Jeremy?”
They followed him outside where he stopped in the middle of the road.
“Jeremy are you okay?” Mackenzie asked.
“What is he doing?” Elena wondered.
They heard a car approaching, they could hear the tires screeching, it was driving fast.
“Jeremy!” Elena shouted. But her brother didn’t move.
Mackenzie didn’t know if she could do it, but she tried anyway. She waved her hands, trying to do something, anything, that would make the car change its course and save Jeremy. The car turned on its side and went crashing into two parked cars, leaving Jeremy unharmed.
“Oh my God,” Elena breathed out before she ran towards her brother.
A young man, Mackenzie recognized to be a hybrid, managed to get out of what was left of his car, he too was unharmed. Before he had the chance to do anything, Mackenzie decided to use fire to boil his blood and water to drown his lungs. One of Katherine’s favorite moves.
“What are you doing?” Alaric asked.
“It won’t kill him,” she answered. “But it’ll stop him for a while,” and right after she said the last word, the hybrid was lying unconscious in the middle of the road.
***
Barely an hour had passed when Damon arrived at the Gilbert house. The hybrid was gone. The authorities were taking care of the crashed cars outside. (Un)fortunately, there were no witnesses.
“What a mess,” he said. “You did that?” he asked Mackenzie, as if he couldn’t believe she had helped, somehow. Though, it shouldn’t surprise him after what had happened on the previous night.
“Yes. She took down Klaus’ hybrid too,” Alaric informed him.
“You killed him?”
“No. Knocked him out.”
Damon rolled his eyes. “Lame.”
He gave Jeremy a look then frowned. “Why aren’t you wearing vervain? Where’s your bracelet?”
Given the look on his face, Jeremy was obviously unaware he had lost his anti-compulsion accessory.
“I don’t know.”
“It was Tyler,” Elena sighed. “It had to have been. That’s why he was hanging out with you. To get you off the vervain.”
“Klaus is trying to send a message. He wants us to find Stefan, he stole coffins full of his dead family members.”
“Coffins?” Elena asked with a confused frown.
“What did you just say?” Mackenzie asked as she approached the vampire.
“Stefan stole Klaus’ family and he wants them back.”
“Stefan has Elijah?”
“Yep.”
“Where is he?”
“Don’t know. Yet. All we have to do is find four coffins and… voilà. No one else on your family’s Christmas list has to die,” he told Elena.
“Give me something that belongs to Stefan,” Mackenzie said. “I’ll do a locator spell.”
“Wait, wait,” Elena stopped her. “How many did you say there were?”
“Four.”
“Four. Bonnie. She has nightmares about four coffins. It can’t be a coincidence.”
“Yeah but in her dreams, Klaus is in one of them,” Mackenzie reminded her.
“So? It could still be the same coffins.”
“Actually,” Damon cut them off, “maybe, one of them has the answer we’re looking for. Maybe, one of them can kill Klaus,” he offered with a smile.
Elena nodded. “I’m gonna call Bonnie.”
“Good idea.”
***
It was late in the day. The sun was slowly setting behind Damon, Elena and Mackenzie as they walked through the empty field towards the abandoned house of the witch burial ground. Mackenzie had never seen it, though she remembered it was from that place that Bonnie had gotten the extra power she was planning on using to kill Klaus. Listening to Damon, it was a haunted house plagued with the spirits of dead witches who hated him. And from what she heard, the feeling was mutual. The house was bigger than she expected, but less scary than Damon had let it to be.
Mackenzie could feel the power of the house from a mile away. It only grew stronger as she approached it, making her feel more and more uncomfortable. She shouldn’t have been surprised though, considering it was that power that could’ve have killed Klaus if Elijah had gone through with the plan.
Elena and Damon didn’t hesitate before entering the old house, but something made Mackenzie slow down.
“Are you coming?” Elena asked, gesturing her to follow her.
Mackenzie shouldn’t be hesitating, after all, if Bonnie’s information was good, Elijah was lying in a coffin somewhere in that house.
“Stefan?” Elena called as she explored the first floor.
“Ah!” Mackenzie heard Damon groan before she saw him throw himself against the wall, his face red and burning.
“What happened?”
“The witches, they’re messing with my daylight ring.”
Mackenzie instinctively stepped towards the vampire who was trapped in a small corner of shadows. She wanted to shield him from the sun but didn’t even have the opportunity to get close to Damon as about three feet away from the doorstep, Mackenzie became paralyzed, completely unable to move. It only took a second for the pain to seize her entire body. A scream escaped her, so loud, so sudden, she didn’t even realize she was its source. She could barely hear it. She could only feel. Feel the fire in her veins, the water in her lungs, the electricity in her brain. The elements were turning against her. The witches were torturing her.
She didn’t hear Elena call out her name or Damon ask her what was wrong. She didn’t feel the two strong hands on her arms which dragged her outside. The pain stopped immediately. As soon as she was out of the house, it was gone.
She gasped as if she had been drowning, she was red as if she had been burning, she was shaking as if she had just been electrocuted. She fell on her knees, feeling weak, feeling like she was going to pass out. She couldn’t feel the tears falling down her cheeks, she couldn’t hear the cries coming out of her mouth, she couldn’t see Elena and Damon trying to get her attention. She saw black, she saw white, some spots of yellow, some spots of red.
She breathed heavily, panting as she fell forward. She caught herself with a hand, hurting herself, maybe it was sprained, maybe it was broken, she couldn’t tell. That pain was easy, that pain was nothing compared to what she had just endured. She couldn’t tell how long it had lasted. If she had been asked, she’d have answered hours. But to Damon and Elena, it hadn’t even been 10 seconds.
“What the fuck happened?” Damon growled. “Did you piss off a bunch of witches or something?”
Jealous bitches.
You control nature, nature does control you.
Burn it. Burn it to the ground.
Destroy them.
Tear them apart.
Burn it. Turn it to flames. Turn it to ashes.
The voices in her head sounded familiar, maybe it was hers, maybe it was someone else’s. The fire in her veins returned but this time it didn’t hurt. This time she welcomed it. Welcomed the power, welcomed the flames. But she didn’t let it out. She had a secret to keep. Those witches would be too glad if she outed herself. If the world knew who she was, what she was. She’d have the entire world coming for her, and like her mother had said, nobody was strong enough to fight the entire world. So, she extinguished the fire and only calm water remained. The tears on her cheeks kept falling as she tried to slow down her breathing.
“Are you okay?” Elena asked, trembling, probably because of fear.
“No,” she breathed out, “they tried to kill me,” she sniffed.
“But why?” Damon wondered aloud, still feeling uneasy from her screams of pain. Even he had rarely heard screams like these.
“I don’t know,” she lied. “Maybe they don’t like the fact that I want to help Elijah.”
“No, I don’t think they’d do that,” Elena said, realizing she didn’t actually know.
“Go,” Mackenzie told them. “Find Stefan. Find Elijah.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, Elena, I’ll be fine, I just… I just need a minute.”
Elena gave a concern look to Damon who nodded.
“I’ll stay with her, I’m not welcomed inside the house either anyway.”
Elena hesitated but eventually walked back inside the house, on alert, wondering if the witches could do the same thing to her.
Damon watch Elena disappear inside before he sat down next to Mackenzie. He gave her a couple of minutes before he asked: “Maybe your parents did something horrible and they’re punishing you for it,” he shrugged.
“Maybe,” Mackenzie sighed as she laid down on the grass, looking up at the orange sky. “Is he inside?” she asked, knowing he was listening.
“Yup. It’s not going well…”
“Are the coffins there?”
“No idea.”
“I think I’m going to pass out.”
“Don’t worry about it,” was the last word she heard before darkness overtook her.
***
When Mackenzie woke up, she was in her bed, in Elena’s house. Elena was there, sitting next to her, writing in her journal. She could see through the window that it was nighttime.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” Elena asked with a soft voice.
Mackenzie groaned. She felt like that time she had woken up after having drunk all night with Katherine. She had a terrible migraine, and her entire body hurt.
“What happened?”
“You passed out. You’ve been asleep for over six hours.”
Mackenzie sighed then rolled on her side towards Elena.
“Did you find the coffins?”
“No. Stefan was uncooperative.”
“Did Klaus try to kill anyone else?”
“No. I gave him Rebekah back.”
“Oh, that’s good,” Mackenzie wanted to be happy, but all she really wanted to do at that moment was sleep. “So, if the coffins aren’t in the house, you don’t mind if I burn it down, then?”
Elena laughed, unsure if she was joking or not. “Well, Stefan is hiding in there so, you’d have to go through him first.”
“Mmh. Maybe I’ll burn him down too.”
“You sound like Katherine, you know that?”
“I know…”
“She’s a bad influence.”
“I don’t know. She’s survived Klaus for 500 years. I’m sure she could teach us a thing or two.”
“That’s certainly one way to see it.”
“So… what’s the new plan then?”
“Now? Well… Jeremy is leaving for Denver in two days. It’s too dangerous here for him.”
“He’s leaving? He’s leaving you behind?”
“I had Damon compel him…” Elena confessed, and Mackenzie didn’t insist as she heard regret and guilt in her friend’s voice.
“You did the right thing, Elena. He’ll be safer in Denver.”
“I didn’t know what else to do… There is no other plan. Klaus is here, he won’t leave until he gets his family back and Stefan…” she sighed, “Stefan’s not giving them back so… I think things are only about to get worse.”
“Worse? How can they possibly get worse?”

Oh, hi! I kniw we haven't talked in forever but please tell me more about Mirabel and Viola :)
Heya!! I know it’s been way too long!
So... let’s start with Mirabel!
Mirabel is the daughter Michael and Esther and is sister to Finn, Elijah, Klaus, Rebekah, and Kol. As such, she is also an Original Vampire. Unlike her siblings, she’s never had a “killing spree” time in her life where she goes on a rampage killing everyone she wants too... now that’s not to say she hasn’t killed a lot of people/beings. She definitely has no qualms about killing, but she tries to show restraint and not let her immortality go to her head. She had a very pure heart as a human and tries her best to keep it that way. So out of all her siblings, she’s the “good one” so to speak, and people often mistake that as weakness and forget that she’s still an Original and will seriously eff you up. Long story short, she ends up parting ways with her siblings for a while and it’s during this time that she finds herself in Beacon Hills. At first it’s just a new place to settle for a while, but then the “animal attacks” start to happen and she finds herself very intrigued by the werewolves and hunters and decides to stay. Her story will eventually crossover with The Vampire Diaries. I plan on having Mira and the Teen Wolf gang go to Mystic Falls when all of the Originals are there. Honestly I’m just so hyped for that part in the story because all those characters interacting will give me life lol.
As for Viola, she’s strictly a Vampire Diaries OC. She’s best friends with Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline, but Caroline is definitely the one she’s closest to. Viola grew up in Mystic Falls with everyone and learns about vampires and such shortly after Elena does, so she’s in it from the very beginning. Since she grew up with a very strict, oppressive mother, Viola is determined to be the exact opposite of her. So she’s honest to the point of being brutal, isn’t afraid to speak her mind at all, and just isn’t afraid to be herself, even if that’s someone that not most people like. Even though her story starts in season 1, her role in it really picks up once the Originals come to town. Viola isn’t aware that she and Kol are soulmates until some major stuff happens (which I can’t talk about because spoilers) and it puts a bit of a rift between her and her friends because the girls all knew about it and didn’t inform Viola. Her and Kol’s connection will also cause some trouble because obviously Viola’s friends want to kill the Originals, but if they do that, then Viola dies also. So yeah... big issues will be coming her way. That’s about all the basic things I can think of for them, but if you have any more questions, of course feel free to send them in! And thank you so much for asking about them! ^.^ ~Dreamer
